Mayuri's POV
"I love you too" I said in a soft voice. He chuckled.
"I'm saying truth" He laughed even more louder. Tears started flowing from my eyes, I never thought that he would act so rude towards me, but it was my mistake, I should bear it. Suddenly he stopped laughing and looked at me with a serious expression.
"Love? If you loved me then you won't be blaming me" He said in a flat tone. But I can see the pain in his eyes. I immediately looked down not able to see in his eyes anymore. He continued.
"Is your trust that much weak on me? That it broke in just a few moments?" My throat dried up. I closed my eyes letting a lone tear flow. My lips trembled while taking a deep breath, controlling myself not to breakout.
"It is not necessary to express the love in words, sometimes it can be seen in someone's eyes, in someone's efforts!" I listened to his voice which soon turned in rage, I got goosebumps all over my body and my fingers trembled. But collecting all my courage, I gulped and tried to touch his hand but he moved backward. I looked at him with my teary eyes and tried to ask in normal voice.
"Will you give me a second chance?" Tears were flowing from my eyes as I waited for the answer. But he stayed silent. He turned around and was about to go but I shouted from behind.
"Kuch toh boliye!" (Please say something!)
"Aapne jo humare hridyah ko ghav dia hai shayad ab veh kabhi naa mitte" (The wound that you have gave to my heart, maybe it will never heal up.) He said without looking at me.
"Aap humari zimedari hai, aapka dhyan rakhna humara kartvaya hai, agar aapko kisi bhi cheej ki jaarurat ho toh bata dijiyega" (You are my responsiblity and it is my duty to take care of you. If you want anything you can tell me.) After saying this he moved out of the chamber. And I sat here, having no energy to speak or understand anything. It is getting complicated, everything is getting complicated, Our relationship is getting complicated!
"Mayuri!" Sudha called me and I wiped my tears quickly.
"Are you crying?" She asked me and I shooked my head and asked,
"Are you blind?" She looked at me with a shocked face and gulped.
"Mayuri, what happened?" She asked in a tensed voice. And I broke out. I told her everything whatever happened yesterday night. Her expressions changed from shock to anger to sadness.
"Everything will be fine. Please don't cry" She said patting my back. I hugged her tightly and she hugged me back.
"No. He is very upset from me. How could I do this, I'm so dumb! How could I?!" I said in trembling tone.
"Shh, don't cry, everything will be fine, You just have to make it up for him" I broke the hug and looked at her face. She nodded.
"How?" I whispered. She wiped my tears and said while touching a side of my cheek.
"Remember what he said to you, that it is not necessary to describe your feelings in words sometimes it could be shown in someone's efforts for his or her partner" I blinked and nodded a little, understanding what is she trying to say.
"So now don't cry and fresh up quickly as today, its yours Prince birthday!" She said with a huge smile.
"Really?!" She nodded in response and I quickly got up from bed and ran towards the bathing area, I heard her giggling from behind. But I have no time, After taking bath I changed into a red color lehenga which had heavy embroidery as today the brahmins pandits will also come and as a new bride I have to welcome them.
......
I started wearing up my jewelleries and Sudha was making my braid. While getting ready I was thinking how to make it up for my dear husband. I was in my deep thoughts but Sudha startled me by interrupting.
"What are you thinking Mayuri?" I looked at her reflection in the mirror and answered.
"I am thinking of how to make it up for prince"
"Ohh" she said and again got engaged in her work. I looked down and spoke.
"What should I do?! I don't even know him that closely..." I said and a tear slipped from my eyes.
"It's simple" She said. I quickly looked at her reflection again.
"How?" I asked. She smiled a little and continued.
"Go and take help from Princess Dhairvi" I looked at her shockingly. She nodded and I looked down while thinking about it. I guess she is right, I should take help from Dhairvi and also I will apologize to her for my rude behaviour.
I nodded and asked her to get me ready real quick as I was getting late. She called some other female attendees to help her. Soon they got me ready and finally I got to see myself, I was looking pretty good. But there was no smile on my face and how could it be? When I hurt him that badly.
"Mayuri..." My sister-in-law called me from behind. I turned around and stood-up to touch her feet.
"Jiji" I was about to touch her feet but she stopped me and hugged me. Breaking the hug she took a little bit kajal from her eyes and put a dot behind my ear.
"You are looking very beautiful Mayuri" She said with a huge smile. I nodded and smiled a little bit but only I know how difficult it was to smile which was not real.
"Thank you Jiji" I said.
"By the way how are you? I have listened that you are not well and last night you became unconscious" She said and I can sense from her voice that how tensed she was. Some painful memory of last night I remembered and tried to control myself to not break out, at least not in front of her.
"I'm perfectly fine Jiji" I said with a smile and she looked relax a little bit.
"But still you should consult a physician Mayuri. God knows if we soon will heard the good news" She said and blushed a little. I furrowed my eyebrows but still answered,
"Jii Jiji, I will" I said.
"So are you able to make the food for pandits?" She asked me and I nodded while answering,
"Yes" I said and looked down. I covered my face with veil and we both moved out of chamber.
Playing with my fingers, I walked unconsciously, I don't know whether they will like my food or not? And also I will have a talk with Dhairvi. Will he forgive me?
'What will happen next?'
