My Act Of Defence

Chapter 7

Kane's POV

I go into the woods for a walk, I hope that it will calm my nerves.

I'm not able to sleep, because all I can think about is the fact that Wyatt is my mate.

I definitely don't like it, and I have no idea what I should do in this situation.

I mean, I have punched him more times than I can count, and I really doubt that he wants to have anything to do with me.

Not that I want to have anything to do with him, since I definitely don't.

The Moon Goddess has to be crazy to give me a male mate, I really wonder if she wants to make my life as hard as it can be on purpose.

I have no idea why everyone thinks that she's good, because right now I can't believe that it could be truth.

Soon I reach some clearing, and I can't even remember how I got here, but I decide to sit down, and I groan in frustration.

Not long later I hear some footsteps, so I look in the direction that they're coming from, and I frown when I see that it's Wyatt's brother, Reggie.

"Shouldn't you have guards with you?" He asks me, reminding me of the fact that the Alpha told the guards to keep an eye on me.

"I have no idea where they are." I tell him with a shrug, if they want to keep an eye on me, then I won't stop them.

But I won't ask then to do it, so it's their fault that I managed to get out of the pack house unnoticed, without even trying.

Reggie rolls his eyes, and he comes over to me.

I already know that he's here to beat me up for beating his brother.

He had found out that I was hurting Wyatt when he was just a small kid, and back then he couldn't do anything about it, because I easily overpowered him, but a few years ago, he had managed to get stronger than me, and he started to find me, so he could beat me for beating his brother.

I have no idea why he didn't tell his parents, but I'm happy that he didn't, because I would have been in trouble, so I just let him punch me, since that will keep his mouth shut.

He's done not long later, and I can feel that I have blood in my mouth, so I sit in the same spot for about an hour, and when my body is completely healed, I stand up to go back to my apartment.

I still don't have any idea what I should do with a fact that Wyatt is my mate, but I guess that it can wait until the morning, since I actually feel like I might finally fall asleep, I guess that the healing took a lot of the energy from me.

I enter my apartment quietly, and I go to my room, hoping that no one will wake up, since then I will be in trouble for going out this late.

I really have to talk to the Alpha about moving to one of the rooms for the teenagers, but I doubt that it's the good moment to do it, so I will have to stay here for a while longer.
