My Act Of Defence

Chapter 14

Wyatt's POV

My parents want to meet my mate, but I don't think that Kane would like the idea.

So, I managed to convince them to forget about it for a few more weeks.

They agreed reluctantly, but at least they don't bother me about it anymore, so it makes my life a lot easier.

Today I will meet with Kane again, we haven't really seen each other after the last time, and it has been a few days, so I'm starting to miss him, and I know that the mating bond is affecting him too.

So, when I get ready to go, I go down the stairs, and I manage to get outside unnoticed, so I make my way towards the clearing.

It's the pack training day, so we can't go to the training grounds, and we have to settle on one of the other clearings.

I should be at the training right now, but I didn't a favour for papa a few days ago, and in exchange I was allowed to skip the training, so now I have a whole day to spend with my mate.

I also learned that Kane doesn't have to complete the basic training, because he's already good enough, and he's only sixteen, so that's very impressive.

This time when I reach the spot that we are supposed to meet at, Kane is already here, although it's earlier than we have agreed to meet.

So, I go towards him, and he smiles when he sees me.

I sit down next to him, and I swear at myself in my head when I realise that I forgot to take my phone, and I don't have my notebook with me.

"What?" Kane asks, after I sigh in frustration.

I make a few gestures, and when he gets what I'm trying to tell him, he reaches in his pocket, and he takes his phone out, then he unlocks it.

But he swears under his breath, and I look at him with a frown.

"The battery will die soon." He tells me, and he shows me the phone.

"I think that we should go to your house then." He tells me, and I take a deep breath.

"No, don't worry about it." I tell him, using my voice.

I had no idea if that would work, but I decided to try anyway, and now we both are starting at each other with wide eyes, since none of us expected it to happen.

"So, you can talk." Kane says.

I try to say something, but I can't get the words out, so I try again, and it takes a few tries, but I manage to say another sentence.

"It seems so." I say, and I smile because of the sound of my voice.

"Nice." He says, and he leans in to kiss me.

I don't think that he was intending to do it, and I don't have any idea what got over him, but I decide to kiss him back.

So, we make out for a few minutes, and then he pulls away.

We spend a few more hours here, but then he has to go, because he has to take care of his sister again.

So, I go back to my house, which is empty at the moment.
