My Act Of Defence

Chapter 24

Wyatt's POV

When I wake up a few days later, I look to my right, hoping to see my mate as I usually do.

But this time Kane isn't here, so I frown, and I decide to go downstairs to see if he's there.

I dress quickly, and I go to the living room, but no one is there, so I check the dining room, and I find only dad and Mason.

"Do you know where Kane is?" I ask them.

"He said that his friends wanted to talk to him, so he left to meet with them about an hour ago." Mason tells me, and I frown, but I nod anyways.

"I will go find him." I say, and I turn around to go outside.

"I want you to eat breakfast first." Dad tells me, so I groan in frustration, but I take some of the salad, and I eat it quickly.

When I'm done, I go out of the house and I decide to go to the pack house, since it was raining at night, so I doubt that his friends would want to meet outside, because they won't be able to sit down anywhere.

I reach the front door quickly, but before I can open it, I catch the scent of my mate, and it comes from the side of the pack house.

So, I go there, and I gasp when I see that my mate is laying on the ground, unconscious.

I quickly go to the tree line, where he is, and I check if he's breathing.

Thankfully he's fine, but there's a lot of blood around him, so I doubt that he will be fine for much longer.

I won't be able to carry him to the pack house, so I leave him here, and I quickly run to the pack house, and I tell one of the guards what's going on.

Then I run back towards my mate, and the guard follows me, with a few of his friends.

They pick Kane up, and they carry him to the pack hospital, but the Doctor refuses to let me inside of the room, so I sit on one of the chairs that are in the corridor, and soon papa joins me.

I tell him what happened, and we wait for about half an hour, then the Doctor comes out.

"He will be fine, someone had beaten him up pretty badly, but nothing serious happened." He explains.

"Then why is he unconscious?" I ask him.

"He was unconscious, because someone hit him in the head, but he's awake now, and he's almost healed, so he will be able to get out of here in about an hour." The Doctor says, and then he leaves us, so we go inside of my mate's room.

"Hi." Kane says when he sees us.

"How are you?" I ask him, and he smiles.

"I'm fine." He assures me, so I go towards him, and I sit on one of the chairs that are next to the bed, while papa sits near me, and he looks at my mate.

"How beat you up?" Papa asks him.

"My friends along with some other guys, and the girls were there too, but they only watched." Kane tells him.

"I will make sure that they will get punished." Papa says, and Kane nods in acknowledgement.
