Kane's POV

We have walked much further than I have expected and it takes a very long time to reach the pack lands, but we manage, and now we're walking through the woods towards the house.

"How do you even know that your son is beyond the pack border?" I ask Carter.

"I have seen him coming from the pack border more times than I can count, and I assume that his boyfriend is a rogue, so I doubt they he would have come into the pack lands.

"Isn't there any place they he could have hidden in?" I ask, and Carter shakes his head.

"No, the only houses that are here are occupied by my kids and their families, so I doubt that he is in the pack lands." He tells me, and I nod.

We reach the house not much later, and when we step inside the first thing that I see is Reggie, who's carrying a plate full of sandwiches towards the dining room.

He turns around when he hears the door open, and he smiles at us, so he definitely doesn't know that we just spent the last few hours looking for him.

"Where were you?" Reggie asks Carter.

Carter glared at his kid, making him frown, most likely wondering what he did this time.

"I should be asking you the same question." Carter tells him.

"I think that you already know where I was, but I came back, as I do every time, so why are you reacting to it like this today?" Reggie asks, sounding unimpressed.

"Because you came here later than usually, so I decided to look for you." Carter tells him.

"I came back a few hours ago, so you should have just waited a few more minutes, it took me longer than usual to reach the pack lands today." Reggie explains, and he doesn't wait for a reply, he just goes to the dining room.

Carter groans, and then he goes to the living room, so Mason and I follow him.

Soon Wyatt joins us, so I make him cuddle to me on the couch, and he happily does it.

"Where did you go?" He asks me after a while, so I explain to him what happened, and he laughs at us.

"You're impatient." Wyatt tells Carter.

"I don't care." Carter tells him, he still seems angry because of Reggie, but I can see that he's trying to not be angry while talking to other members of his family, since it's not their fault that Reggie is how he is.

"If I was Reggie's father, I would have just made his room a one huge cellar, so he won't be able to escape it, at least before you would let him." Wyatt says, and Mason nods in agreement.

"I told him on do theat." Mason tells Wyatt, but Carter waives them off.

"He would have found a way to get out of there anyway, so that would have been a waste of time." Carter tells them.

"I heard what you said Mason." Reggie says when he walks into the living room, so Mason gives him an amused smile, to which Reggie just shakes his head.
