Thanks for the memories

A/N: PLEASE DONT PLAY THE SONG UNTIL I SAY SO! I'm a naturally dramatic person so I want it to be used at a dramatic time. Enjoy:)

PHIL POV

When I woke up the next morning, it took me a while to figure out where I was. I didn't recognise the duvet wrapped around my body at first, but I then realised that I was in Dan's bedroom. My mind wandered back to last night and how I got to be where I was. I chuckled lightly as I remembered how I pretended to be asleep so that Dan would hold me in his arms. I stretched, then lazily got out of the bed.

I groaned at the sudden loss of heat before opening Dan's wardrobe and taking out his tracksuit bottoms and a random T-shirt. He wouldn't mind. He always borrows my clothes anyway. When I opened the bedroom door, I was greeted with a large cardboard box that was as high as my knee bone. It was sloppily wrapped with with red, Christmas wrapping paper.

I smiled to myself as I read the note that was attached to the box

"Dearest Philip,

I googled a load of different ways of apologising to someone. I was told to follow these steps:

1. Say the words

2. Admit responsibility

3. Make amends

4. Promise it won't happened again

There was also an option of giving a gift, so that's what I'm doing. Before you get it though, I need to follow the steps I listed above to apologise correctly.

1. Phil, I am so sorry. You are the best friend I have, and the one person I can trust with everything. You trusted me with your biggest secret and I took advantage of you. That was a bad move.

2. There's no denying that this was my fault. I've locked myself away hoping that everything will get better with time, but that is stupid. I'm punishing myself for my actions, but by doing so, I'm hurting you.

3. I want to forget that this week ever happened. Is there any way that we can redo the past week? I really want you to forgive me. I need you back

4. I think it's clear that I've learned from my mistakes. I promise it won't happen again and I mean it.

Okay so this letter is getting a bit long. Just open the box and get it over with! Remember, a little goes a long way.

I didn't realise I was crying until half way through the letter when the black ink was smudged with the salty tears falling from my eyes. I rubbed my eyes, leaving them red and blotchy. I cursed myself for being so emotional and proceeded to open the box. This was not easy because of the amount of sellotape he had put on the paper.

After five minutes of wrestling with the paper and tape, I got the box open. To my distress, there was another box inside. I battled the tape yet again, to find another box.

After about an hour, I found myself opening the seventh box. I was mildly irritated, but I knew that there was no way that there could be another box inside this one. I opened it to find yet another letter. I smiled, at the suspense that Dan had created, but I was also a bit annoyed. In the letter it said:

"Phil,
I did day that a little goes a long way. This letter is little, but it'll take you a long way. Okay I need you to pay special attention. I'm sending you somewhere, but you need to work out where before you go.

This is your clue: Go find the people who make you fantastic
