With haste, I make my way into the large tower, 'Bardot Enterprises', smacked directly on the side. I had started my job here as an Account Manager for the CEO himself, Conrad Bardot, last week. Thankfully, I had a pretty good resume from my job back in Holmes Chapel and I got this job in New York fairly quickly.
Mr. Bardot interviewed me himself over Zoom twice and offered me the job at the end of my second interview.
I had decided that I wanted to move from Holmes Chapel to New York about six months ago. I was ready for a change and thankfully my parents were supportive. They knew that my ultimate goal was to move to the states at some point. I'm not sure if this move is permanent yet, however, I've been enjoying my time here so far.
Mr. Bardot was nice enough to give me two weeks to accommodate my move before my first day, and I was grateful for that. It allowed me to get completely settled in and become more familiar with the area, making it a lot easier for me to navigate to and from work since I actually knew where I was going.
I made my way into my office, dropping my briefcase into the chair along the wall next to my desk before slumping into my seat. With a sigh, I logged into the computer and reached down to unbutton my blazer so that it fell along my sides. I reached over to my briefcase to the retrieve the file I had been working on at home last night, opening it up on the surface in front of me.
Some time goes by before I'm drawn from my work, hearing a rapping against the door frame of my space. I look over to see Mr. Bardot and I stand, buttoning up my blazer again as I make my way around my desk to greet him.
"Mr. Bardot, good morning," I smile, extending my hand out to him for a shake.
He nods at me and gives my hand a shake. "Please, Harry, call me Conrad. Mr. Bardot reminds me of my father."
I chuckle and tuck my hands into the pockets of my suit pants once he releases his grip. "Right, sorry. I keep forgetting."
"No worries," Conrad replies with a shrug, mimicking my actions of stuffing his hands into his own pockets. "I actually came by to invite you to a dinner at my home tomorrow night. It's something I try to do every couple of Fridays out of the month to treat my employees."
My eyebrows raise in surprise, finding it shocking that a CEO would just open his home to his employees freely like this. "Oh really? Well that does sound nice."
"It's formal, but not too formal. There's going to be some other business partners that I feel comfortable inviting there so just make sure you continue to keep those tattoos covered up, eh, Styles?" He cracks, taking his hand out of his pocket to point at me with a finger gun, moving his thumb up and down in a joking manner.
