My eyes stay on Conrad's back as I watch him leave through the front door. He was leaving to go out of town for the next week, and I was more than relieved to know that things could be more lenient around here for the next few days. Conrad was going to be taking an Uber to the airport as he practically left Theodore in charge of me.
When he decided to change Theodore's status from driver to actual bodyguard, I didn't know, but I'm more than grateful to actually have him on Harry and I's side.
It was just around eleven, and I had asked Theodore to pick me up a little after that. I was sure that Harry was probably already over at Grey and Lyn's, not wanting to miss a minute of time with me. We knew that we could be a little more slack when it came to how long I was out of the house since Conrad was gone, but I still couldn't get away with spending the night. It was the first time that he was going out of town after he took my phone away and put all these rules in place, and I just had a feeling that he would check in with Theodore at some point in the evening and ask to talk to me.
I walk up the stairs to the guest room to collect my purse, but I head into the bathroom before doing so. I sit down on the toilet to take care of my business, and after I'm done I stand. My eyes widen when I look into the bowl and see red, but I immediately let out a sigh of relief. I realize it's just my cycle, and that I'd finally gotten it. To be honest, if I hadn't gotten it by next week, Harry and I had agreed that I would take another test.
I clean myself up, and take care of the issue, before heading back out into the bedroom. Slinging the strap to my purse over my shoulder, I take a look at myself in the mirror. I decided to be extremely cozy today - dressing in a pair of black leggings, the Vans Harry gave to me and a light blue jumper that actually matches the blue on my shoes.
Heading down the stairs, I open the front door to the house and see that Theodore is already waiting for me outside. I send him a smile before I turn around and lock up the front door. The rocks in the driveway crunch under my feet as I walk forward, pulling the sleeves to my jumper over my hands as there was a bit of bite in the breeze today.
"Good morning, Theodore," I say as he opens the back door for me. "How has your day been so far?"
"Just fine, Maeve. Mr. Bardot all gone as expected?" he asks as I slip into the seat, and I give him a nod. "Good to hear it."
I can't help but smirk softly at his comment as he rounds the car and gets into the driver's seat.
We hold casual conversation as he drives me to Grey and Lyn's. He actually asks me a lot about Harry, and I watch as Thedore's own smile spreads over his lips as I gush over Harry and I's relationship. Butterflies swirl in my stomach as I realize I'm going to be seeing the man I'm talking about in just a few minutes - not having seen him in a week now. It wasn't getting any easier to deal with, but at least I know that it would be hard for things to get any worse in the little amount of time we had left to have to deal with this.
