Closing the front door behind me with the biggest smile on my face, I turn around to lock it. This weekend with Harry was one of the best. It had its moments of sadness, sure, but I felt such relief at the fact that he finally knew who I was. I was so happy when he told me it didn't change anything - he even went as far to tell me that it just made him love me more now that he knows all of me.

I sigh happily as I turn around, beginning to walk through the foyer, but my smile quickly drops when I see Conrad sitting on the couch.

I didn't know he was home since he parks his car in the garage.

"Conrad, when did you-"

"Where have you been?" He cuts me off, but he doesn't face me.

His interest is focused on the coffee table, and once I drop my eyes to it, I can see that he's dishing out lines of cocaine. My stomach churns, causing me to press my hand against it.

"I-I was at Lyn and Grey's. I texted you that," I tell him, but I can't draw my eyes away from the drugs.

He had never done it out in the open like this before.

My hand reaches down to my opposite wrist, and I rub my thumb over the coin on my bracelet that Harry gave me.

"Can you not do that out here?" I ask and he immediately snaps his head up to look over at me.

Standing up from the couch, he begins to approach me, and I start walking backwards. My heart is pounding as I try and think of how fast I'd be able to get away from him - to have enough time to lock myself in a room.

"Still so scared of it, huh?" Conrad questions and reaches out, catching the strap of my bag to pull me closer.

I gasp out in surprise as I clash against his chest, and he pushes my bag off my shoulder. Squeezing my hand in his, he drags me over to the coffee table, and then moves his hand to the back of my neck. He forces me to kneel down before making my face hover over the white lines.

"Just do it and you won't be so scared, Maeve," he says, his tone condescending and dark. "Your sister was an idiot who didn't know she had been dealt a bad batch."

Tears begin to fall down my cheeks and I tremble, lifting my hands up to claw at his forearm - trying to pry his hand off of me so I can stand.

"N-no, Conrad, please," I sob out as he presses me closer and closer to the thing that took my sister away.

I dig my nails into the flesh of his arm which causes him to hiss out in pain as his grip on me releases. Stumbling ever so slightly, I push myself onto my feet and hurry towards the stairs

"I've been staying with Heidi, you know? She actually gave me a really good idea when it comes to you," he speaks as I grab my bag, lifting a hand to wipe my cheeks. "About your problem."
