"And how did you manage to get Conrad to agree to her going?" I ask Greyson as he helps me get the couple of bags out of the Uber I took over to his place.

"Well, let's just say that Lynette and I didn't exactly tell him that you were coming," Greyson replies, eying me as he waits for my response.

My eyes widen and I shake my head. "Nope, I'm not going anymore. Absolutely not."

I begin to put my bags back into the trunk of the Uber and Greyson grabs them again, stopping me. "It'll be fine, Harry! Do you really think she's going to run and tell him that you're here? Of course not."

My heart pounds in my chest at the thought of this blowing up in all of our faces. Greyson, Lynette and I would probably all lose our jobs - who knows what the consequences would be for Maeve.

I sigh, bringing my hand up to my face to pinch the bridge of my nose between the pad of my thumb and my index finger. "And Maeve? How does she feel about this?"

I close the trunk of the car and we begin to walk towards their driveway as my Uber stopped in the street. My eyes catch sight of both Lynette and Maeve, Maeve's back to me as they stand next to one of Greyson's cars. As we get closer I can pick up on their voices.

"Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that we invited Harry?" I hear Lynette say quickly, looking past Maeve and over to me.

I stop and look up at Greyson, finding myself irritated again that they didn't even notify Maeve of this whole plan either.

Maeve turns and looks over her shoulder at me, a look of shock on her face before she looks back to Lynette. Maeve grabs Lynette's wrist and tugs her away from us and they walk into the garage.

"You both are out of your mind," I mumble to Greyson, shaking my head. "You didn't even tell her?"

"Look, Lynette and I knew that both of you would say no if we suggested it."

"You're the one telling me not to do anything stupid! Telling me to be careful and then you turn around and do this. This isn't smart for any of us. She hasn't even talked to me since that dinner last week."

It was true. I had texted Maeve a few times since that dinner and I hadn't heard anything from her. I didn't blame her for her silence. No matter how small of a moment it was - we felt something happening between the two of us up on that balcony. It scared me so I'm sure it had to have scared her.

We were playing with fire so it didn't surprise me that my attempts to contact her went unanswered. I wasn't angry or upset. She was going to be married soon and was obviously loyal to Conrad. This whole scenario I had thought up in my head of us being something more was just as I said - a scenario. It will never be a reality.

"Harry, you've never been to the Hamptons. This is the last good weekend that we're probably going to have for the rest of the year to do this and it just so happens to be a three day weekend so it's the perfect opportunity for you. Conrad is out of town for the next two weeks on international business so Maeve was going to be by herself anyway and she always comes with us on this trip. Everything is going to be fine," Greyson tries to reason with me but I can't shake the feeling of uneasiness I have about it all.
