"Okay so the plan is that we're going to the subway station and Harry will already be waiting for us. Then we'll group up and head to the carnival from there," Lynette gives me the rundown as she finishes her hair up in the mirror.

Both of us are going for a more casual look tonight. She has on a pair of dark denim jeans and some black combat boots - on top a chunky black sweater. I'm dressed in a pair of black skinny jeans with black Vans old Skools and a thick burgundy sweater on my torso. It's the middle of November and thankfully the weather hadn't gotten too cold yet.

The carnival we were heading to on this Saturday was the fall carnival that I never had the luxury of going to before. Conrad had said carnivals were silly and for children so he never bothered taking me. Thankfully he was still out of town from last Thursday and wouldn't be returning until Monday, giving me a whole week and a half without him.

Harry and I had seen each other once since I spent the night last Friday. I joined him for lunch this past Wednesday - him taking an extended lunch so we could go to a restaurant completely on the other side of the city from the office. I had Theodore drop me off at a boutique that was right down the street - told him I was spending the day shopping and I'd call when I was ready to be picked up so he could head home.

Harry and I kept it cool and casual while in the restaurant but when he had to go back to work we couldn't help but pile into the backseat of his car for a hot and heavy make out session. A make out session that ended in him giving me an orgasm with his head buried between my thighs underneath my skirt. Having to actually go shopping after that was an experience to say the least. It's not like I could have Theodore pick me up without any bags in my hands.

I was excited to see Harry again. It's getting to the point where every time we have to say goodbye I feel like I'm not getting enough.

It makes me feel even more empty than I already am.

"Maeve," Lynette's voice draws me out of my head and I raise my eyebrows at her. "You alright?"

"Yeah, sorry...just thinking," I mumble, looking down at my lap to pick at my nails.

"Look, I know you're usually a very private person but you know you can talk to me, right? About anything. I'm here to listen - not to judge."

"I know, Lyn, thank you," I start, looking back over to her to see that she was done with her hair and already looking at me. "Just confused as of lately, that's all."

"And I'm sure this confusion stems from someone we're seeing tonight?" She asks with a raise of her brow.

I get up from sitting on her bed and nod, pulling at the hem of my sweater. "I'm sure you already knew the answer to that."

Lynette sends me a soft smile and walks over, taking one of my hands in both of hers. "I'm going to talk and you're going to listen. And if I'm speaking out of turn then I give you permission to smack me across the face, alright?"
