Lyn, Grey and I sat in their living room with mugs of hot tea in our hands. Grey was talking about the new job he was starting next week, making this week his last one at Bardot Enterprises. I knew that after everything that happened at the Christmas dinner that Grey would be looking elsewhere. Thankfully, Grey was also able to line up a job for Harry whenever he was also ready to leave, but he still was gathering evidence to prove that Conrad has been tampering with money.
Once he gets enough information together, then we'll both be rid of him.
Harry should be here any minute since he texted me almost half an hour ago that he was about to leave his place. He didn't give me any insight as to what we were going to be doing - he just told me to have a bag packed for the night and a dress for dinner.
To say that I was excited would be an understatement. It's like every time we're alone together these days, we just end up growing even closer. It's definitely to the point now where I don't want to leave him, but we both obviously needed just a little more time to get things straight.
If I were to already leave, that would more than likely ruin Harry's chance of building a case against Conrad, and Conrad deserves to pay what he's done to me - even if his charges will be for other crimes.
We both agreed on no presents for Valentine's Day considering we had just spoiled each other at Christmas, and Harry even more so insistent because of all the birthday gifts I had given him.
A knock on the door interrupts our conversation, and my stomach swirls with butterflies. We all stand - Grey heading over to the door to let Harry in as I finish my tea. I walk into the kitchen and begin to clean my mug, but Lyn was quick to snatch it from me.
"Nope, uh-uh," she says, knocking her hip against mine to take my place in front of the sink. "There's a man waiting for you in my foyer - the last thing I'm having you do is worry about cleaning this."
"Lyn, come on, it was only going to take me-"
"A few seconds?" Lyn asks with a smirk. "Exactly, so it'll only take me a few seconds too. Now go! He's waiting for you."
Smiling softly, I lean down to press a quick kiss to her cheek. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, sweet girl."
I walk back out into the living room to see Grey and Harry standing by the door. My heart flutters at the sight of him, dressed in a pair of light colored loose denim jeans and a hoodie. This was probably the most casual I had seen him dress outside of his pajamas.
"Hi," I greet him as I grab my bags from beside the couch.
Walking over to him, Harry quickly took the bags from me - sponging his lips against mine.
"Hi baby," he mumbles upon them and I smile, resting my hands on his shoulders.
Grey groans beside us and we disconnect - looking over to him. "You both are so adorable I could gag."
