Emotions swirled inside him, a mix of nostalgia, regret, and longing. The weight of his past choices pressed heavily on his shoulders, reminding him of the road he had travelled and the darkness he was battling. It's a bittersweet moment, a reminder of what he had lost and what he yearned to reclaim.

As Sixx leaned against a lamppost in the haunting neighbourhood of Van Nuys, he saw a familiar car approaching. A car parked by the roadside with the radio blaring loud rock tunes into the night. In the front seats sat Slash, his "little brother" and friend from old times in the music scene, and Vanity, his alluring and sexy vixen of a girlfriend with light chocolate skin and dark hair that matched her eyes enough for Slash to call her his girlfriend. She was almost a replicate of Rae, except adding that layer of hotness that attracted Sixx even more.

The car came to a screeching halt in front of Sixx. His two friends were in the car, lost in their own world, intoxicated by more than just the music. Slash's eyes widened in recognition, registering the dishevelled state of Sixx, the tell-tale signs of withdrawal etched across his face. Without a word, Slash leaned out of the window.

"Hey, man, you good?" Slash called out, his voice slurred from intoxication. "Where the hell have you been?"

Sixx leaned against the car door.

"Been a long night, Slash," he replied, his words carrying a hint of weariness.

Vanity, peering over Slash's shoulder, recognised Sixx and added, "You look like you've seen better days. Need a ride?"

The offer was unsaid but understood. Sixx, caught in the grip of his tumultuous emotions, felt the pull of familiarity, of something easier than facing the turmoil within. Without a moment's hesitation, he slipped into the backseat of the car. The music pulsated as Slash revved the engine, the car speeding away into the night. Vanity turned down the music a notch, her gaze flickering between the road and Sixx in the rear-view mirror. Slash shot a sidelong glance at him.

"Almost a damn year," Slash's voice broke the silence, a mix of concern and curiosity as he manoeuvred through the winding roads. "We thought you fell off the face of the Earth or somethin'. What's been going on?"
