Chp 5 The strange problem child
Shouta isn't afraid to admit that the first time he saw Midoriya, his classes biggest problem child he did a double take, stared at him more then was strictly necessary because of his extreme resemblance to his vigilante kid.
A kid he desperately wants to adopt and would do so in a heartbeat if the brat would only talk to him, he's already got the papers because given the kids lack of care over anything aside from healing others he doubts he has parents or any other guardians.
He's already asked midoriya if he had a twin, or other family members who look just like him only with silver eyes and hair but that was a bust. Kid just looked confused at the question or that someone looked like him.
He'd ask his kid if again he would just talk to him in some compacity unfortunately his kid aside from blank stares or cute little smiles when he heals people he just tends to look largely confused about things that as far as shouta can see, shouldn't be confusing.
Heck the kid looks confused when someone thanks him for healing them, or even someone just smiling at him... let alone something more complicated like receiving the gifts he and a few others give him.
Shouta could excuse that as the kid never having received positive attention growing up but it's much more then that, something deeper.
He's actually pretty sure the kid is somewhere on the spectrum, maybe has some kind of mental illness.
One of the multiple reasons he didn't try to bring him in after he was first put on the list of vigilantes. Kid needs help not to be put behind bars just for healing people, villains yeah but it's not like it's exclusive, kid heals everyone equally and happily so long as they don't try anything.
Not that anyone smart would these days, given how popular the kid is with everyone, villain, civilian and some hero's, not to mention the serious heat the villains would bring down on anyone stupid enough to mess with the only one who'd heal them no questions asked and for free.
He'd be more worried if he didn't know full well the kid can take care of his own no problem, the main reason he is on the list of top wanted vigilantes.
Shouta has seen his kid kill, has seen others be swallowed by his quirk only to never be seen again.
Shouta can't say he honestly cares about that, his morality has never been the most logical dispite being a hero but given the information he got on the few known to have been killed by the kid they were the worst of the worst kind of scum.
So he can excuse it to himself since everyone else that went after the kid just found themselves suddenly on the other side of the city.
His kids a pacifist at heart, an apathetic one for sure but it's a logical conclusion given everything he has managed to observe of his kid so far.
So it comes as no surprise at just how shocked Shouta is at suddenly seeing his kid, his pacifist, apathetic but generally kind hearted kid suddenly appear alongside with a bunch of dangerous villains in the USJ before his class has even begun.
Fuck.
What has his kid gotten himself into this time.

They didn't originally plan on coming along with shigaraki or showing themselves in centre stage and they certainly didn't plan on showing their face to their host but... well that not nice feeling they dislike hit them after they thought of saying no when shigaraki asked if they wanted to come.
They don't know why the feeling appeared, even more confused on why they felt the need to respond to their favourite villain at all when they never have before.
Though they suppose they had to show themself to their host eventually anyway, and at least by coming along they can heal any injuries either side receives after the whole show down is over with.
They could do so without showing up but... their host knowing they have a double needed to happen and they really don't like the not nice feeling they got when they thought of ignoring or denying shigaraki.
They can't help but sigh when the more they think about it the more confused they get.
Social interaction sucks! None of it makes any sense to them.
Shoving their spiralling thoughts away they instead look around, curious about this building and all the different areas within it while also paying attention to the hero wannabes.
They tilt their head at the wide eyed looks two in particular look at them with.
They aren't including Aizawa in it cause he is currently fighting off the weaker villains even if he did look at them weird when they first showed up for some reason.
No they mean their host and their hosts main bully.
Maybe they should wave to their host? That's what humans do when they greet and part with each other right? If that fan kid was any indication anyway.
They do just that and their strangely amused when their host unconsciously waves back before stopping himself in a strange flustered panic.
Why would he panic at waving at someone? Sometimes they wished they could feel their hosts emotions and hear his thoughts when outside his body, if only so they could understand somewhat why he is acting the way he is.
Seriously human social interaction sucks.
They never make any sense.
Blinking back into awareness from their wandering thoughts they try their best not to use their shadows to block the... things brutal attack against Aizawa, the not nice feelings hitting them like a freight train at the strain it's taking not to instantly help, to immediately protect their favourite hero.
Only the reminder that shigaraki promised they wouldn't seriously hurt, kill or maim Aizawa staying their hand, that and because they can heal him better then new afterwards even if they feel like they are breaking apart just watching their favourite hero be hurt.
They... decided they don't like their favoured people attacking each other.
It... hurts... and not the good kind either.
No wonder their host only liked physical pain...
Seriously... social interaction sucks balls.
