Chp 11

Much as they like Aizawa and wanted to stay longer with him, they eventually left, they didn't want to sign unknown documents he passed to them, since they didn't know what they were and they have heard horror stories from some of their patients about them signing bad contracts that led to them losing important human things like homes, money or worse, body parts that they were thankful they could... regrow? Well that's how they termed what they did anyway, not that they did, they just manipulated their shadow into regaining what was lost which manifested a direct, instantaneous regaining of their missing limb and or limbs in the physical plane.

So despite Aizawa's obvious disappointment, though why he was when he didn't even tell them what the papers were, and they were actually purposefully listening for once... they left, they have people and animals to heal after all.

True they could do it from wherever but it seems too bothersome and energy consuming to do it from far away... besides while interacting is troublesome they like seeing the happy expressions on their patients faces, or feel from their shadows as is the case with most animals.

Though even if they had no one to heal they would still have left, they have cats to take care of and snuggle with and they have found a new found love for the activity thanks to Aizawa.

Though for some reason they have yet to figure out, it's much different giving then it is receiving, it's also very different hugging animals then it is humans.

Nice, but still different enough that it leaves them... wanting? They don't know exactly, given they have never truly wanted something unless it was to help.

Not everyone or everything, true, but at least to help everyone in their direct line of sight, it's sort of like a need, it's so intense, so strong they could not hope to suppress it even if they bothered trying.

They haven't, though it does bring to question now that they have this new found feeling of wanting... if their need to help... is actually a want?

Well they don't care to think too hard on it, seems more troublesome then it's worth figuring it out

Sides they have something much more important to figure out right now.

Such as why the guy who treats them like a free therapist Shinso is asking them to... train him?

"So uh... like I was saying... UAs sports festival is coming up soon... and I figure I need something else then just trash talking in order to get into the hero course.... But given my Quirk no one is very eager to teach me fighting and your kind of the only one I can figure to ask... since while a healer you are a vigilante after all..." Shinso asks... hesitantly, scratching the back of the fluffy purple hair, looking awkward.

They don't understand the feeling, since while capable of feeling human emotions, the awkward emotion they felt so strongly in their host has yet to be felt by themselves.

Pushing the thoughts on feelings away they seriously give the notion of... teaching someone some serious thought, it seems like a very novel notion to them, and they do know how to fight despite never having to actually really use the skill, and they do know how to teach...

If only because they know, has seen everything when they are part of everything and nothing, when they are part of the ether of shadows and most of that knowledge is retained when they become a something instead of an everything.

It is only the hows or whys that the nothing in everything and nothing comes into play.

Still them teaching.... Novel, interesting but it also seems bothersome.

Teaching requires much more direct interaction and that is something, while known to them, still something they have only recently engaged in and begun to learn as an individual.

Knowing as a singular individual and knowing as a being of shadows and part of a whole... are very different things and concepts.

"....Alright..." they agree anyway, no matter how confusing their thoughts and bothersome they find it, if only because Shinso is one of their favoured and they don't want to disappoint him.

They never want to disappoint their favourite humans... unless it's the preacher Stain, since they really are not a hero and they know hero's.

Shadows know near everything but the future after all.

Shinso's face pauses in shock for a while, they don't under stand why, but then positivity lights up.

"R-really!? Thanks.... Thank you so much! Um so... ugh when do we begin?" He says, still kind of awkwardly and they find themselves grinning immediately at the question which makes their new student pause, their face paling for some reason they can't explain.

They don't know why they are grinning either.... They just know teaching.... While bothersome is going to be fun.

"Now"

Summoning their shadows, calling on its teleportation they let their new student fall though, ignoring their yelp of surprise as they send them to another planet, one very similar to earth but one just beginning all the same.

From their knowledge, the best tried and true method of teaching is by doing, of learning on the go, and since they know Shinso knows nothing of actual combat, and just teaching him a few punches and kicks won't do much of anything, first they'll let them learn stealth and movement skills.

Nothing gets one learning quicker or more effectively or efficiently then when one's life is literally on the line, so hiding from giant carnivorous insects and dinosaurs should work wonders on Shinso.

Good thing UA is on a break for the next few days as they implement more security measures... at least they think that's why they are on a week long break anyway.

Still a week in a Insect and dinosaur infested planet where everything can and will try to kill you should be more then long enough for Shinso to learn and gain a-lot when it comes to stealth, increasing their stamina and even gaining some forms of combat.

He doesn't even need to worry about dying since they won't let any death blows land, or dangerous parasites infect them, no matter how much they get hurt or maimed or near death they will be fine since they can just heal them right back up good as new.

They are going to need to do all that from within their host though, sending someone to a whole other planet with their shadows spent a-lot of their energy.

They could regain that energy without laying within their host, but it would be all to slow especially given the amount spent healing others everyday.

Add that to healing and preventing Shinso's death all the way on another planet and the next portal they will have to open to get Shinso back... it would be a lot easier and quicker to regain the energy needed to do all that from within their hosts body.

A being of shadows as they may be, a single part of the inexhaustible ether, they a still a Quirk, bound by rules they cannot utter, their energy reserves while immense, even by human standards when it comes to quirk energy levels, are still exhaustible, the energy they currently have, that the ether, the shadows grant them access too in this physical body, can only be fully regained by being within their human host.

It's nothing that will negatively effect their host though, if anything their host only feels more hungry then usual when their energy levels are low.

Sometimes they are curious, about what would happen to them if they were to purposefully exhaust the energy available to them.

The shadows never tell, never whisper truth only warnings, their memories of what could or will happen from when they are part of the shadows fully erased when placed back into their physical body.

It's curious but they will always heed the shadows warnings.

For curiosity is a human notion and while humans seem content to ignore any and all warnings in their curiosity, for the truth no matter what horrors they just may find...

They are different, while they are capable of human emotions, of learning human ideas and concepts and what makes them fundamentally human... they are still a Quirk.

Still just a small speck of an infinitely larger whole... so they will always heed the warnings, always listen to their whispers because if there is one thing they are not.

It's human.
