Chapter 1

I, Austin Short, am the Beta wolf of the Fire and Ice Pack. Which was originally founded by twin witches gifted with the power of elements, hence the name. But your not here for a history lesson you want to hear about my Dragoste (love) and I. Ill start off the day after I saw her for the first time.

" You are not leaving me!" Jessie my ex screamed at me her tan skin turning red with anger.

I'm not going to continue a relationship that was just a sexual filler until I met my mate, when I met my mate today. She was so beautiful and seemed so innocent. The way she tilted her head in confusion looked almost like a puppy looking at you while your working.

"I found my mate Jess and it feels wrong to be with you." I said emotionless.

I wasn't going to give Jess anything and she knew starting this relationship that once I found my mate we were done.

"Where is the bitch?!" She yelled irritated.

My eyes became wide and black showing that my wolf, , was not going to take her disrespectfulness. I took a deep breath in so he would calm down. She saw my wolf on edge and tilted her head in submission.

"I will take no bullshit from you Jess, so if you plan to hurt my mate then I will personally snap your neck. Got it." I said authoritatively.

She shook her head yes and walked out of my office. Val and Ross walked through the door soon after. My sister Valeria looked extremely happy and looked like she would bounce off the walls if it was possible.

"You have found your mate, yes? and I would love to hang out with her." she said in her thick Romanian accent.

She isn't my biological sister but when her family was killed by rouges she came to America to join our pack when she was ten. She showed great power and intellect at such a young age Alpha Ross decided to make her third in command. Over time we became close and I naturally called her sister.

Valeria is average height and has toned muscles. She had long black hair that is always in a ponytail and bright brown eyes.

My best friend is Alpha Ross. He met his mate, Luna ( thought that since she is actually a Luna it would be kinda funny, no? Okay), 4 years ago. After a year together they had twins,there names are Lucas and Rosalina. The twins were a spitting image of their father with blonde hair and blue eyes. Luna on the other hand had brunette hair.

"That's gonna be an issue sis." I say in response.

"Why would that be issue, does she not want you?" Ross asked obviously worried.

"No it's not that, she......how can I put this?" I said rubbing the back of my neck.

"Well spit it out Austin." said Valeria

"She is younger." I said looking down putting emphasis on younger.

"So you don't want her." Ross asked walking up to my desk.

"That's not what it is. I just......don't know how to treat the situation."

Valeria is sitting down in a red velvet chair across from me at this point. I could tell she was thinking thoroughly about the situation. As was Ross with his arms crossed.

"How did you met her?" Ross asked obviously on to something.

"I was driving on my way here and I saw her on her bus hugging someone I assume is her brother."

'What if it wasn't her brother, what if it was her boyfriend.' My wolf Convel stated with clear anger in his tone. I had no time to deal with an over powering angry animal at the moment.

"I have an idea. Maybe we could find out what school she goes to and see if any of our pack members are one of her teachers." Ross said bright eyed and feeling smart for coming up with that idea.

" I can look into the records of the pack." Val said suddenly.

Ross nodded his head signaling for her to go on. She got up from her chair and quickly walked out of the door. Ross walked up and sat down in the chair she was previously seated in. I took this time to go back to the paperwork I originally was working on. Before I could sign the treaty that I had in hand I felt my best friend burning holes into my paperwork.

"Yes Ross?" I asked obviously annoyed.

"I was thinking since we dont know her name, we can hold a meeting with the teachers from her school and figure it out." Ross said leaning back in the chair.

"Yeah sure."

"Your scared about something. Tell me." Ross said sensing my distress.

The situation was so strange. She was young and well not even her animal has matured. She needs someone that could wait until the time was right not try to take her innocence the first time they got. I wanted to be the reason she smiled and the reason her eyes sparkled but did she want that. There will always be that bond because we are mates but that could only do so much.

"Hey Austin you've been out of it for a few minutes." Ross said waving his hand in front of my face.

"I'm fine . I said getting up and heading in the direction of my sister.
