Zoe P.O.V.
I woke up in my bed with a huge headache. I slowly got out of the bed and saw the moon light shining through my window. I must have been out for awhile. I look all over my room for my phone but came up short. I started to go down stairs when I heard voices from the living room.
"She is not going anywhere, someone just tried to kill our granddaughter." Grandfather said.
"It's not like it'll just be her, Kash will be there and I bet her little mate wouldn't mind coming too." Grandmother said trying to persuade Grandfather into letting me go somewhere.
"No man will be mated to my granddaughter."
"Last I checked honey the only purpose Kash and Zoe have to you is to hand your company off too. When is the last time you cared for their well being as a grandparent."
"So where are you trying to take me?" I said walking into the living room.
"Um I wanted to give you and Kash your gifts soon and we have to go to a warehouse not far from here to get them." Grandmother said.
"Well I cool with- wait how did you know I was in trouble back at the school?" I asked Grandfather.
"I had a strange feeling that's all." He said.
"Uh-huh and did you think that someone could be worried about me right now ? Like my best friends, Luna or you know my mate." I said sarcastically.
"Now I know one of you have my phone since I keep it with me 24/7."
Grandfather reached is his sports jacket pocket and pulled out my phone. I took it from his hands and immediately dialed Emily when I heard a knock on the door. I walked up to the door with the phone on my ear. I open the door to see a distressed Luna and Austin.
"Oh my gosh Zoe your okay!" Luna yelled hugging on to me.
"I'm so sorry I'm calling Emily right now and I was gonna explain to you guys what happened." I responded.
When Luna pulled away Austin stepped up to me and grabbed my chin. He started to lean in when a rough hand went in between our faces. I pulled away to see a half disapproving half angry Grandfather.
'He did not just ruin our mate time did he?' Alidia stated
"Johna let the kids have their little moment, it's cute." Grandmother said.
"And what gives you the right to care?" I semi growled.
"You will not growl at me young lady?" Grandfather said towering over me.
Austin and Grandfather started to have this star of as they intensely growled at each other. After a few moments Grandmother and I pulled away our mates so there wouldn't be confrontation.
"Grandfather just stop already, if you weren't wolfing out every five seconds we could probably figure out what's going on." I said.
" Luna, Austin I need to speak with you outside." I continued opening the front door.
I walk outside and lean on Austin's car. Austin stood by me while Luna stood in front of us. I turned towards Austin.
"Before I say anything I need to clarify something with you."
"What do you need to clarify?" Austin responded
"This week has been-interesting but what is this, what are we? We act like a couple that has been together for years sometimes but then we act like we are high schoolers dating."
"Okay how about this-" he started pulling my body close to his." We are boyfriend and girlfriend, just started dating but we are a little bit more connected. I will take you out on more dates and you can wake up next to me more." Austin finished.
"I think I can work with that." I said looking into his blazing green eyes.
I could hear a cough coming from Luna's direction. I look over to her and she is rocking back and forth on her feet awkwardly.
"Oh sorry, so Cora shocked me out today and my grandfather found me then brought me home but I think Cora is being manipulated by someone and I think it's this Jessie person. I saw her name in Cora's notebook." I said.
Luna and Austin's eyes got wide quickly after the name Jessie escaped my lips. They must know this Jessie then. I look at Austin then Luna seeing the same worrisome expression.
"You guys know who Jessie is don't you?" I asked.
"Yes." Luna said hesitantly like saying the wrong thing would set off a bomb.
"Tell me." I said.
Silence.
"Are you gonna tell me?" I asked turning to Austin.
"It's my um ex." Austin said slightly flinching.
"Great so your ex is trying to kill me because she wants to be with you." I responded.
"If she kills me, your mate, then why in hell would you even let her breath let alone sleep with you. That is the most cliché bullshit I have ever heard." I said crossing my arms.
