Chapter 8

I woke up to see Austin's resting face and to hear his soft snores. He looked so cute and vulnerable. I tried to slide out of his grip but it only tightened. His eyes fluttered open and his green eyes a shade lighter.

"What does Convel look like?" I asked randomly.

"Reddish fur and he has a black spot behind his ear."he said at first taken aback by the random question.

"A little fast aren't we?" Austin said as I rolled him on to his back and straddled him.

He leaned in for a kiss and I backed up teasing him. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me closer. I leaned in like I was going for a kiss then went to his ear. I could hear his raspy chuckle as I started to nip at his ear. After about 1 minute of nipping at his ear I began kissing down his simple jawline and down his neck.
A hushed moan escaped his lips and I smiled against his neck.

"I'm gonna ask Luna can I borrow an outfit and go take a shower." I said getting off of him and out of the bed. Before I could leave the room I was pulled into a rock hard chest."I told I don't like teasing."He whispered into my ear. "Sure didn't seem like it back there Mr.Short."I said twirling out of his grip. I walked out the door and ran into a little boy.

"Oh my gosh I am so sorry." I said picking the boy up.

"It's okay I can take a hit cause I'm gonna be Alpha." He said doing the superman pose.

"Your daddy's Alpha Ross?" I asked the little boy.

"Yep. My name is Lucas."

"Well hi Lucas,I'm a close friend of Austin."

"There you are Lucas, you can't just run around the house like that." Ross said walking down the hallway seeing Lucas and I.

"Thanks Zoe for finding him."Ross said taking Lucas.

"No problem Alpha. Where is Luna?" I asked.

"She in our room on the the top floor, not hard to miss. Also call me Ross whether you believe it or not you and Emily are family now."He said walking towards his office at the end of the hall.

I walked to the stairs which were right across from Ross's office and headed to the last floor. He wasn't kidding when he said not hard to miss. Instead of having multiple doors leading to a room like the other floors there was just a some wooden double doors. I knocked on the gold painted doors to hear a "Come in."

"Hey Luna." I said walking in.

"Oh hey Zoe. Sit next to me." She said patting the spot next to her in bed.

She was sitting in the bed with reading glasses and a book. She was wearing a Hulk T-shirt and some green pajama shorts. I completely walked in and slowly walked to the bed across from the door. I sat next to Luna in the king sized bed.

"Whatcha need Zoe."She asked looking away from her book placing it open towards the foot of her bed.

"Do you have any clothes I could wear. Nothing special just like jeans and a t-shirt." I said before she nodded and headed to her huge walk in closet.

"Okay think of a show you wouldn't mind wearing on your chest right now." Luna asked looking through her t-shirts and tank tops.

"Ummm. Once upon a Time."

"Captain Hook or Evil Queen?"

"Evil Queen we don't need Convel showing up cause he is jealous of Hook."(A/N if you don't know the show then watch it on Netflix it will change your life. So will Hook.)I said as Luna laughed.

"Here you go." She said passing me an Evil Queen tank top and a pair of jeans.

"Thanks Luna." I said walking out of the room.

It was 2:30 and I just got my clothes on and my hair is now frizzy and wet. Luckily Luna also had a flat iron and she let me use that once I blow dried my hair. I walked into the bedroom and Austin was putting on a button up shirt and some jeans.

"Where are you going all work casual ?" I asked leaning on the door frame .

"I'm going on a date." He retorted.

"With?" I asked obviously jealous.

"I don't know if you can handle it." he said.

"Tell me."

"It is my obviously jealous mate, but of course." he said lifting my chin up .

"A date?! Well I-uh I'm dressed well enough for a date." I said pointing at Luna's clothes trying to use an excuse.

"You're dressed enough now let's go." he said getting his keys and wallet.

I let out a sigh putting on the black heels I had on yesterday. After slipping them on I followed my mate down the stairs and towards the door. I could feel the confused looks from everyone from random pack members to Emily and Ross. I got into his car next to him and we were off towards wait- I don't even know where we're going.

"Austin where are we going?" I asked.

"The restaurant where my dad proposed to my mom." he said with a smirk knowing wjat my reaction would be.

"YOUR NOT GONNA PROPOSE ARE YOU. IM TURNING 16 FOR GOD SAKES AND THIS IS OUR FIRST DATE. I PART IF ME WOULD LOVE THAT BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW WEIRD THAT WOULD BE."I screamed.

"No it's just a date." Austin laughed.

"Oh I said embarrassed.

We were finally at the restaurant and a familiar car was parked next to us. I got out of the car and followed Austin into the restaurant. The smell of seafood engulfed my nose. Another familiar smell also lingered but I couldn't put my finger on it. The fact that I didn't know who or what it came from left me uncomfortable and a little stressed.

"Hey you okay? You seem stressed." he asked putting his hand on the small of my back.

"I'm fine just never have I ever been on a date with someone like, well, you." I lied pointing at him.

"We have a table right here for you." the waitress said leading us to a booth.

I decided to sit next to him instead of across because it felt more comfortable and it put my stress on ease. I was looking down at the menu as Austin ordered a watermelon lemonade for me and a Sprite for him. The sudden sound of sneakers coming towards us made my stress reappear. I look up from the menu to see Cora.

"Zoe what are you doing here?"Cora said surprised.

"Oh I'm just out with my mate." I said hoping she thought I meant the australian term.

"Okay. Well my parents are out of town so when we go out on Saturday maybe you could stay over."

"I was gonna do it tomorrow but I think now would be a better time." I said while hearing Austin's not so subtle growl.

"Do what?" she said cluelessly.

"I- we can't be a thing anymore. I just fell out of love." I said not wanting to see her happy face fall into sadness.

"What do you mean, you don't love me anymore?" she asked tears threatening to escape.

"I found someone else and it just happened. I'm so sorry." I said getting out of the booth going for a hug but was rejected.

"I loved you and cared for you will all of my heart so what did I do wrong?" she said crying.

"Nothing you did nothing wrong. I made the mistake." I said trying to ease the pain.

"I hope you and the person you used to replace me rot in hell." she said wiping her face and walking out.
