Burnout, that's what Kim and Chay were feeling from their overwhelming work and responsibilities and they both wanted a break.

-

After a long week of working in his studio, Kim finally found time to have a day off. Well, a day is not enough to rest for him, he needs a week or a month at least. He's been writing and recording his song in his new album and attending events for the past few months that he finds exhausting.

He has a rest day every now and then but this week is different, he needs to re-record half of his songs in his album because the only hard drive that contains his recordings got broken. It pissed Kim off because all of his hard work just drained down to nothing. He's so damn tired he feels like losing his voice any time now. And he still needs to go back to the studio to record again. Just the thought of it is already draining Kim.

Right now he just wants to lay in bed with his lover at his side, Chay.

But Chay is no differ. He's been struggling in college with tons of exams and activities. He's also the president of their university's music club that will perform in their upcoming intramurals which adds to his stress. Chay has always been so positive, he doesn't want people to see that he's having a hard time handling things so he just smiles and does what he needs to do. But in reality, he wants to cry to release the frustration and tiredness from his body. He can't, he's too busy to cry. A break is all he needs this time or he's gonna lose it.

Kim came home first which is odd because Chay always comes home first and will wait for him with open arms and a warm smile. Those were the small things Chay did that removed Kim's exhaustion in his body. It's getting really late, Chay must be so busy.

Kim already misses Chay. They barely go out these days because of their schedule. He doesn't want to disturb Chay and neither does Chay to him. But now, he just wants to be with his boyfriend.

Half an hour later, Chay arrived home, his shoulder slumped and on the verge of tears. His face looks so tired.

"Hey, baby..." Kim greeted in a soft voice and with open arms like Chay always does. Chay ran to his arms and started crying.

"P'Kim, I'm so tired." Chay sobbed to Kim. He gently rubbed Chay's back, soothing him as he cried.

"I know, baby. I know." Kim said. Chay continued to shed his tears, ranting about how busy he was at school and how tiring it was. Kim just listened to his lover's rants, still hugging Chay.

When they separated, Chay's eyes were red and still full of tears.

"I'm sorry, P'Kim. I know you're tired at the studio too. How's your day?" Chay said, sniffing and pouting as tried to hold back more tears.

Kim chuckled at his lover, his boyfriend is so cute, "Well, it's tiring as usual. I need to re-record all of my songs because of that stupid hard drive. But after all, it's fine. Seeing you take all of my tiredness away, baby." Kim said as he wiped Chay's tears from his cheeks.

Chay sighed deeply, "Sometimes I think of leaving all of these behind, even just for a day."

Kim stared at Chay for a while. That idea didn't sound so bad, leaving things behind. "Do you want to?" he asked.

"What?"

"Let's do that. Let's have a day or two. Damn, we can even have a week for ourselves. We haven't dated for so long and I miss you so much even though I see you every day. I just want you and to be with you." Kim said.

"How about th–"

"Will be there when we get back. Take a rest, baby. Have a breather. Are you okay with it?" Kim said as he caressed Chay's face. Their work and responsibilities will be there when they get back. They both know they needed a break from all of this.

Chay smiled and nodded, "Yes, I wanted that so bad. Where do you want to go, P'Kim?"

"Anywhere. As long as I'm with you. You're my favorite place, anyway." Kim said and kissed Chay on the lips.

They left that night, leaving their phones at the bedside table. They left their apartment, leaving their worries and stress.  They wanted to put the world away and escape reality even for a short time.

After all, Kim and Chay needed each other as they were one another's getaway. They wanted to be disconnected from the world and have their world on their own.
