SAME SKY: LONG WAY HOME

Kim's tour finally ended and Chay can't for him to go back home. To him.

Finally! Finally! After two months of being separated from his lover, Kim is coming home. His tour ended two weeks ago but he has to stay in California because of additional work. Chay understood that because it can give more opportunities for Kim. So he waited for him even though his heart aches to see Kim.

The few traces of Kim were slowly fading in their apartment. It's been so quiet since Kim left. Chay often plays Wik's songs so he can somehow feel that his boyfriend was there. But the feeling is still so different. The place doesn't even smell like Kim anymore. Something is always missing in Chay like half of his heart is miles away from him. He feels like he will never be full until he's with Kim.

To lessen the heaviness in his heart, Chay drowns himself with schoolwork since it was the reason he's stuck here and alone. He tires himself with multiple tasks and activities so he wouldn't feel the solitude he has. When he comes home to their dark apartment, Chay will find himself crying in their bed as hugs the pillow that Kim uses. He will cry and cry until he falls asleep, still hugging the pillow.

Chay spends his weekend at the main family's house. Tankhun and his bodyguards often accompany him, watching series and going shopping. Porsche will often bring him to some places to entertain him. It helped Chay to overcome his loneliness, but he knows deep inside him that it would be different if he was with Kim. No words can describe how much he misses Kim.

There's one night when Chay finishes one of his term papers, he can't fall asleep since his mind is still active from overthinking so he went outside and drove around in the dead of the night. He wants to call Kim but he doesn't want to disturb him.

They used to drive around in the middle of the night and talked about almost everything. Sometimes nothing at all. Each other's presence is all that they need, they're safe zones.

He went to their usual spot, underneath a large tree at a park. The only place where Kim and Chay share. There's where they do their picnics, their usual date. Kim on his guitar as he serenades him, while Chay draws Kim as he adores him at the same time.

It breaks Chay's heart as he reminisces about their moments together. He wants Kim and he wants him now. Chay cried that night. He's been crying every night.

Then a phone call disrupted him. It was Kim. Shit. Kim is calling and he's crying. He can't show Kim his current state, but if doesn't answer the call, Kim will worry. He immediately wipes his tears and breathes deeply as he calms his nerves.

He answered the call, "P'Kim!" he perked.

"Hey, baby... Took you a while to answer. Something's up?" Kim said. Chay can hear shuffling sounds from the background. He's probably in a rehearsal.

Chay shook his head like Kim could see him, "No, just doing something. Sorry." he said. He tried to sound fine, he just hoped Kim wouldn't notice.

"You're not okay," Kim said.

Shit. Chay looked around. Kim's not here, isn't he? He can't see him, right? "What do you mean, P'Kim?"

"Baby, I know you. I know your voice. I know when you're not okay. And I know that you're not. Something happened?" Kim said in a soft voice.

Chay's heart swelled, both in pain and affection. He found himself sobbing once again. He can't hold back all the emotions that he's been suppressing all this time. "I'm sorry. I just miss you so much, P'Kim." he cried. He let his tears fall.

"Baby..." that's all Kim can say. He can't do anything right now. He wants to comfort Chay, hug him at least. But he can't.

Chay just bawled his eyes out. He's getting sick of this kind of setup. He doesn't want to be away from Kim.
