Months Later:

It's been amazing since the World Cup win. My parents were overjoyed. My dad was so happy for me, he was crying like a baby. My mom was crying too. They asked how Alexia and I are doing and I told them these have been the best moments of my life. They were happy for me and that's all I could ask for.

Alexia and I's love has been growing every day. Sure we've had our ups and downs, but not all relationships are perfect. After we argue, we talk it out with each other and embrace with hugs and kisses. There's nothing better than that.

The new season started and Barcelona and I have been fucking crushing it. We haven't lost a game, I've scored over 25 goals already, and the team overall is playing perfectly. We've already qualified for the round of 16 in the Champions League and there's no way we aren't winning it. We won't let that happen.

Tonight is the night of the Ballon D'or for men and women and the best XI in the world for men and women also. Alexia and I stunned at the carpet with our dresses. We were holding hands the entire time. We of course kissed. mean if the world didn't know already, then know they do. The place we are at is absolutely packed. Men's and women's players galore.

We are currently in our seats waiting for the women's Best XI to be announced then it'll be the Ballon D'or announcements. I think it'll be Alexia since she was the captain for Barca and Spain. Even though I was the one scoring the most goals, it was her that was making everything possible. She was the midfield maestro.

The Women's XI is about to be announced. I don't really care about the other people's names but I do hear Mapi, Patri, Leah, Erin, Alexia, and I's name. It was expected to be honest no surprises there.

It's now time for the Ballon D'or winners. For the men's Ballon D'or winner it is...

Erling Haaland. He deserved it. I mean this guy is unstoppable. He's an absolute animal.

Now it's time for the women's Ballon D'or. Alexia and I are holding each others hands in anticipation of who the winner was going to be.

"The winner of the women's Ballon D'or is..."
The announcer opens the envelope...

"Megan Cardona!"

Wait! What the fuck? I won. I fucking won? Holy shit my first Ballon D'or and I'm only 18.

The crowd erupts with joy and applause. Alexia kisses me and gives me a massive hug. I hug her back. This is insane. We break our hug and I go up on stage and the announcer gives me the Ballon D'or.

Huh. It's lighter than I expected.

I go up to the stand and just stand there with my legs shaking. I let out a deep breath. "Wow, I never thought I would win a Ballon D'or. It feels like my dream is already complete." I said to the audience some of the chuckle while the rest smile.

"I would like to thank my parents. They are the ones that helped me with my journey. My dad especially. He is one of the craziest fans out there. Screaming and yelling at football like a little girl. I couldn't have gone far without him." I say with tears in my eyes as I try not to cry.

"I would also like to thank Barcelona. This team is simply amazing. Everyone is so nice and caring. This team has been my girlhood club ever since I touched a football. When I my agent told me that Barcelona wanted to sign me, I took that opportunity. I don't regret it one bit. This is one of the best decisions I have ever made."

"Winning the World Cup with Spain was truly one of the best experiences ever. Playing for the country I was born in first before moving to England, is simply amazing. The girls on the team are so amazing truly."
