Chapter 5

The same preppy nurse entered the ward for what must be the billionth time since i arrived here.

"How was ypur sleep little Miss?" she inquired. The same thing every day. If you're going to make conversation, at least make it less boring. I'm lonely as hell but it's actually more of a drag answering the same questions every day than being anti social in here, not that it's particularly difficult.

"Usual," i respond. Well actually that's a lie, they're getting worse, but if i tell her that i'll be on a psychiatric ward before you know it. Something she did gave me the distinct impression that she knew i was lying. The look on her face said it all.

"What??" i asked her.

"You're lying," she stated.

"Since when did you become a mind reader?" i asked sarcastically.

"Since when did you become lippy?" she retaliated. Definately sick of me. Well, the feeling's mutual. I avoided her eyesight as she did her daily checks.

"Your stats are looking pretty good today," the nurse commented. I grunted and turned away. I am SICK of this place, its actually unbelievable.

"The doctors are considering letting you out soon to another closed ward, and we will be introducing you to an open environment," she informed me. Well I guess I'll have a little more freedom.

"We've been injecting inactive forms of viruses for some time now, so you will be able to cope out there. You still require some pain relief." she paused.

"This will just hurt a bit. Its the first time you've been conscious so it will most likely make you hallucinate, but not all patients do." She administered the drug and left the room again. I glanced back at the small window on my left and turned back to the door to see if she had gone, when i got the BIGGEST shock of my life.
