outside by the car, savannah was helping unpack groceries along with ryan and seth. kirsten and sandy were grabbing a few things as well in conversation.

"are we worried your dad wont love us if we don't feed him enough?" sandy asked kirsten. to be fair it was a lot a food the woman bought.. probably enough to feed a family of ten. kirsten scowled, "alright starting now, no more digs at my dad."

"oh honey, that wasn't a dig. seth?" sandy looked to his son for support. "no...but when you called him a heartless bastard, that was a dig!"

"i believe it was heartless and soulless." savannah added. kirsten raised a brow to this, glaring at her husband as she brought a bag inside.

"you two sold me out!" sandy whisper shouted at his kids before walking into the house.

"see they're like puppets and we're puppet master." seth explained to ryan. the boy nodded, "world domination to follow."

"you're starting to get it." savannah smiled.

"so your grandpa he-he basically owns newport, right?" ryan worriedly asked the siblings, unloading the car a bit more.

"yes and.. much like yourself he comes from humble beginnings, you guys'll probably hit it off." seth told him.

"i burnt down one of his homes." ryan deadpanned, meekly pressing his lips together. savannah grimaced, "ooh. forgot about that."

"yeah but it was an accident. he owns like a million of 'em, it's probably not even on his radar." seth brushed it off. ryan's facial expression didn't seem to change.

"hey seriously do not worry about it, okay? look, he lets my mom run the company now, he's got a brand new girlfriend, he's very mellow." seth reassured the boy. he nodded, trying to take his word for it.

seth and savannah's grandpa caleb was like the donald trump of orange county. one of the most powerful men in the west coast.. and he was visiting for the week.

"seth!" caleb called out walking out the front door to say hello, almost at perfect timing. "hey!" seth smiled, hugging his grandpa. "how you doin?"

"you're still not a football player." caleb chuckled joking about seth's build. "ah yes, no but thank you." seth forced a laugh.

"savannah, hello." the man finally acknowledged the brunette's presence.. coldly, yes.. but still acknowledged it.

"good to see you.." savannah uncomfortably nodded. caleb wasn't very fond of her. seth cleared his throat to fill the awkwardness, "uh grandpa meet my friend ryan."
