savannah cried herself to sleep last night. she felt so horrible to see ryan put in the back of that police car, and more than anything she felt responsible.
the brunette walked into the kitchen the next morning with her brother by her side. she took a seat at the island not saying a word as she poured cereal.
"hey. whatcha doing?" sandy asked leaning his back on the counter, trying to sound upbeat as if today was a glorious day.
"nothing. we're grounded." seth shrugged him off while savannah just stared down at her bowl.
"well, you two are handling it well. you're lucky you're only grounded." sandy lectured.
"can we please see him?" the girl raised her head, finally speaking up.
"ryan? no. there's nothing i can do for him right now." sandy told them.
"yeah?" seth raised a brow calling bullshit, "you think he's okay?" sandy paused for a moment, "well, there's a reason why i like to try to keep kids out of those places."
savannah clenched her jaw. she hated herself for what happened. she wished more than anything that she could take it all back.
"and, you just...can't get him out, or you're just not a good enough lawyer?" seth stuttered.
"my hands are tied unless i can find his mother." sandy informed them. "so, then, why can't he stay here?" seth frustratingly suggested.
"i will not have this conversation again." kirsten put her foot down, "rosa, can you make sure that the scones go inside."
seth rolled his eyes, "yeah, well, if anything happens to ryan, then it's all on you--so i just hope you can live with that."
"what i can't live with is if something was to happen to either of you because of him." kirsten sternly stated raising her voice a bit.
seth scoffed, "like we meet someone who doesn't suck?"
savannah furrowed her brows, "why are you treating him like he's such a bad person? it wasn't his fault, you know."
"maybe like my daughter almost getting arrested? we are not his parents. i am not his mother!" kirsten shouted. savannah's face fell.
"good thing." seth muttered walking back to his bedroom. "hey! get back here. apologize." sandy shouted to his son who just ignored him.
"screw this." savannah muttered under her breath storming off.
