"Come with me, I have a gift for you," Jaxon whispered in my ear, his voice low and smooth. Despite the chaos of my birthday—the laughter, Stella fighting Ava, and all the excitement—I couldn't bring myself to say no. There was something about the way Jaxon said things that compelled me to follow, even when I felt guilty for leaving my friends behind.

He drove us through the dark streets, the silence between us comfortable yet electric. When we passed the graveyard on the way to the cabin, the atmosphere turned eerie, shadows stretching like fingers in the moonlight.

"One second," he said as we stepped out of the car. I furrowed my brows, watching as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek silk fabric.

"A blindfold?" I asked, tilting my head in surprise.

"Yes," he replied simply, his voice steady and firm.

He stepped closer, his hands finding their place on my waist, and gently pulled me back until my body was pressed against his chest. The warmth of him contrasted with the cool night air as he carefully tied the blindfold around my eyes, plunging me into darkness.

"Jaxon..." I whispered, suddenly feeling nervous, my body stiffening.

"You're going to be safe with me," he murmured, his voice soft and reassuring, his breath warm against my ear.

Something about his words made me relax, trusting him despite the strangeness of the situation. I heard the door creak open, and he guided me inside with a gentle push. It was quiet, almost too quiet, and before I could ask where we were going, I gasped as he scooped me up into his arms effortlessly.

"Wrap your legs around me," he said, his tone commanding.

I hesitated for a second before doing as he said, looping my legs around his torso and holding onto his shoulders for balance. He carried me up the stairs, each step deliberate, the silence only broken by the sound of his breathing.

"I have two gifts for you," he murmured, his lips so close to my neck that I could feel the warmth of his breath.

My heart raced as he finally set me down and removed the blindfold. The first thing I saw was him, his cool, piercing eyes locking with mine. His expression was unreadable, but his presence alone filled the room.

We were in a bedroom, though I wasn't entirely sure which one. The cabins were familiar, but this room felt different—intimate. My attention was drawn to a black box on the bed. It wasn't large, but it wasn't small either, and its placement felt purposeful.

Curious, I walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed, lifting the lid. My breath hitched when I saw what was inside. A diamond necklace, sparkling as if it held the stars themselves, and a diamond ring sat nestled in the box. The simplicity and elegance of the jewelry left me speechless.

"It's so beautiful," I breathed, my fingers grazing the necklace. "How can you afford this? Your dad must've been furious that you spent so much money."

Jaxon smirked, sitting beside me. "I saved up. Any gifts I give you from now on come from my money, not my parents'." He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my forehead. "But my Dad loves spending money, he wants me to spend more. If anything, he tells me to buy you gifts."

Yeah, Uncle crist was known for spending money on his wife—like a crazy amount.

The tenderness of the gesture caught me off guard, making my cheeks flush.

"A ring? Is this a promise ring?" I joked, holding it up to the light.

"Maybe," he said, his tone teasing but serious at the same time. "I want you for myself. My mom suggested I give you a ring before someone else tries to."
