CH 13 - Distant Friends

(6 months later)

It was an early spring day and the weather was finally dry and not too cold. Jungkook took the opportunity to sit outside and paint the skyline. The artwork was one of several he needed to complete this semester for his art classes. He was in his first full semester as a college student and wanted to continue making a good impression on his professors.

Taehyung came up behind Jungkook, leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. He loved sharing his apartment with Kookie and watching him work. Taehyung had a lot of experience with artists over the years, and he saw that the young man had real talent. "I like how you've captured the buildings in an abstract way."

Jungkook put his brush down for a minute and turned to pull the angel onto his lap. "Are you looking to distract me, because it probably wouldn't be too difficult." He leaned in and pressed his mouth against Taehyung's. The angel's lips parted allowing Jungkook to deepen the kiss. Pulling away briefly Jungkook said, "I know Yeonjun will be in dance class for a few more hours. Is Jimin out?"

Taehyung grinned and leaned in closer to his boyfriend, whispering in his ear, "He is out. We have the place all to ourselves." He licked his lips as he watched the young man's eyes grow dark with desire.

Jungkook looked down at his paintbrushes and knew that he needed to clean them properly or else they could become unusable. "Umm, give me a few minutes to put these away." When he saw a look of impatience on Tae's face, he smiled. "Baby, it will only be a couple of minutes. I'll be quick."

Taehyung bit his lower lip and leaned in again to whisper into Jungkook's ear. "I'll be on the bed naked, ass up, waiting for you." He had to stifle a laugh as Jungkook gulped loudly, his eyes growing larger. "Don't take too long or I'll have to start without you." He glanced down towards Jungkook's lap and saw that his words had the desired effect. Smirking he turned and walked back into the apartment.

Jungkook let out a low whistle and mumbled to himself, "He's going to be the death of me." Since the two began living together, they had gone through several periods of insatiable neediness. Jungkook thought that they could be entering another one of those times ... not that he minded. Except that he didn't need to be too distracted from school. He quickly washed and put away his painting supplies, before heading off to the bedroom.

Jimin had been spending more time in the DMZ where he found Nila, bringing her back with him to train her on how to hunt. He would play the roll of the leopardess and show Nila how to hunt and capture small prey, allowing her to meet her changing dietary needs. While he didn't enjoy killing the smaller animals, he knew they were more prevalent in the area, while the leopards were endangered. He kept an eye out for another leopardess who would be willing to take over parenting the young cub, but so far didn't have much luck.

Since Yoongi left to help ease deforestation in Madagascar, Jimin had become more withdrawn into the animal world. Sometimes he would leave the apartment for several days, just to enjoy the quietness of the DMZ. Even though that area was the result of a human war that was still ongoing, it had become a natural reserve since humans usually stayed away from the area except for occasional patrols.

Jimin smiled as he watched Nila eat a freshly killed rabbit. She purred loudly as she ate and Jimin thought it was adorable. He considered calling Yoongi to see how things were going in Africa, but before he made the call he received one from his sunshine friend. Jimin answered the call, "Hobi! How are you? You look stressed, is everything alright?"

Hoseok indeed was stressed. He had recently been visited by Jin who gave him a run down on what was happening with Taehyung. Hoseok was concerned that their friend was going to get himself kicked out of heaven. Having watched the trials of several fallen angels, he did not want that to be the end result for Taehyung. "Jimin, are you and Yoongi still living with Taehyung?"
