CH 28 - Nearly Famous

Three weeks later

"I can't believe you're nearly famous now," Yeonjun smiled at his former roommate.

"Me? What about you? You get to hang out with idols every day. I'll bet Soobin gets jealous."

Jungkook kept his hands wrapped around the mug of hot chocolate. It was early spring, but still a bit chilly outside. He and Yeonjun were sitting near the window of the coffee shop where Jungkook used to work and had first met Taehyung 5 & 1/2 years earlier. It was the first chance the two had to catch up since Jungkook and Taehyung had been back in Seoul.

Yeonjun smirked at his friend, "He does, but I have my ways to let him know he's my one and only."

Jungkook nearly choked on his cocoa, his mind was quite able to imagine what his friend was referring to. They had lived together for nearly five years and knew each other well. "So how is working at Big Hit?"

"I love it. I stay busy and work long hours, but I still can't believe this is my life now. Just thinking back to how we lived before we met Tae." Yeonjun shook his head as if in disbelief. "Am I dreaming? Is this real?"

"I completely understand. During my show, I was walking around in a daze. All these artists and celebrities coming up to speak with me." He shook his head, remembering what it felt like. "It's been crazy."

"I sometimes wonder where I'd be if things hadn't changed." Yeonjun's tone grew serious and he spoke quietly. "I might've been killed or ended up in jail."

"I never would have let that happen." Jungkook reached over and squeezed his friend's hand.

"Are you and Tae really moving to Los Angeles?"

"That's the plan. It will take the contractors at least 3 months to get the house fixed, but yeah. I really love it there."

"Is that where you're getting married?" Yeonjun involuntarily glanced down to his friend's engagement ring as he asked.

"We haven't discussed the specifics, but obviously we can't do it here. I'd like to get married on the beach, just with our closest friends." Jungkook met Yeonjun's eyes, "That means you and Soobin are invited of course. Speaking of that, um ... would you be my best man?"

"Absolutely!" The two friends smiled at each other. "Does that mean I get to plan a bachelor party for you?"

Jungkook sighed, "Anything other than a nice dinner and maybe some drinks is too much."

"So no strippers?" Yeonjun wiggled his eyebrows at his friend and the two laughed.

"That's a hard pass."

The two continued catching up for an hour. Towards the end of their get together, Yeonjun happened to look out the window and noticed Taehyung walking on the other side of the street.
