Chapter 2

The same day, 8:30 pm

In the bunker

Jay's POV

I'm in my room, about to leave for Alex's party, when I get a text from Claire.

Claire: I just found out that you're walking to the party. Do you want me to bring you, instead?

Jay: If you come here, Sam and Dean will definitely hear your car, and then we'll both be in trouble.

Claire: Yeah, but you can't walk an hour away. That's like, super dangerous. Do you have any idea of the creeps and weirdos that hang around this town at night?

Jay: I have a knife.

Claire: No. I'm gonna come get you, and we'll go to the party together. I'll pick you up at the end of the road, so that Sam and Dean don't hear anything.

Jay: Fine. You worry too much.

Claire: I'd rather worry about you, and find out that you're fine, than not worry about you, and find out that you're not fine. I'm on my way. I should be there in like, 20 minutes.

Jay: You live 30 minutes away. Are you texting and driving?🧐

Claire: No, Silly. I'm texting and speeding.😄

Jay: CLAIRE!

Claire: Do you wanna get to the party early or not?🙄

Jay: I wanna get there alive.😟

Claire: I haven't hit anything today, so you'll be fine.

Jay: Key word: "today". I'm afraid.😟

Claire: Relax. Just wear your seat belt.

Jay: You're gonna kill us.

She doesn't answer, and I decide to leave her alone until she gets here. I don't want her texting and driving, so I probably shouldn't text her while she's driving. I find my jacket, because it's cold as fuck outside, then I open my bedroom door, and look out into the hallway. I'm making sure that the coast is clear. I didn't make sure that no one saw me, at the gas station. So I'm gonna make sure that no one sees me, while I'm trying to sneak out. But I guarantee that no one saw me, at the gas station. The guys were just being dramatic, as usual. I make sure that the coast is clear, then I make my way to the garage. I leave through the garage, because both of the guys are in the living room, where they'd definitely hear me leave through the front door. Now I'm walking down the road, where Claire's supposed to meet me. Not even 10 minutes go by, before I'm getting a phone call from her. I answer the phone, ready to fuss at her for being on her phone and driving.

Jay: I'd appreciate you not being on the phone, while you're driving.

Claire: Then it's a good thing I'm not driving.
