Chapter 9

The same day, 8:54 am

At school

Jay's POV

Dean's on his way to school, because Claire and I don't know how to lie. He said he'd call the school, to see if Claire's lie checked out. But he's gonna find out that it's a lie, and then he's gonna be coming here. So he's basically on his way.

Jay: We've gotta get better at lying.

Claire: Yeah. We probably just got more time added to being grounded. That makes your time like, a month.

Jay: We have to think positive. He might bring Sam. And Sam always tries to avoid groundings and spankings. So maybe we don't even have anything to worry about.

Claire: I doubt Sam's gonna be on our side. How do you think Dean found out that we skipped class? You know he didn't track us. He was probably in the living room, minding his own damn business, when Sam told him what we were doing.

Jay: So you think that if Dean does bring Sam with him, neither of them are gonna be on our side?

Claire: Yeah. They're both gonna be in a pissy mood, because Sam just had to track us. He could've gone out and gotten some bitches, but he chose to worry about what we were doing.

Jay: Have you met Sam? He can't get any bitches.

We laugh for a minute, temporarily forgetting about what's happening.

Jay: Maybe we can come up with another lie, to cover up the first one.

Claire: A lie, to cover up a lie, isn't a good idea. They're gonna find out about the second lie, and then be mad at us because we lied twice.

I've never thought about applying logic to my lies. Maybe that's why the guys always find out. We spend about 30 minutes trying to come up with a solution, but we're called to the front office before we can think of one.

Jay: Let's get this over with, I guess.

She nods and we both leave the gym, now heading to the front office.

Jay: We can at least hope that they won't be mad, right?

Claire: Have you met them? Dean especially, is gonna be mad.

We walk in to the front office and are immediately met with death glares from both of the guys. Damn. No "Hi", "Hey", "Hello", "What's up"? Nothing? Just immediate death glares?

Jay: Hey, fellas.

Dean: Don't. What the hell have you two been doing for the past 45 minutes?

Jay: Uh, learning. Obviously. That's what you send us here for.

Dean: Oh so you do know why we send you here. That means you're just being disobedient. Right? Since you know why we send you here, but you're skipping class anyway.
