In the bunker

Jay's POV

Jay: But why?

Dean: Because I said so.

Jay: That's not a valid answer. Please try again.

Dean: "Please try again"? Kid, I'm the adult here, and I'm saying no-

Jay: And I hear you saying no. But I'm not hearing a reason as to why you're saying such a ridiculous thing.

Dean: Because your grades are horrible, and you still haven't even tried to bring them up. So you're not going out to see your little girlfriend, until you at least try to bring those grades up.

"your little girlfriend". Bitch, I should slap you.

Jay: She's not my girlfriend. She's a girl that I care about, and who I wish was my girlfriend. Get your facts straight.

Dean: And saying things like that, when you're told no, is another reason why you can't go. But it's mainly because of your grades.

My grades have been horrible for my entire life. And it's only now that I wanna go see a girl, that you have a problem with them?

Jay: You've never had a problem with my grades before. But now that I wanna go-

Dean: Don't even try that. We've always had a problem with your grades, Jayden. You just don't listen to us, when we're lecturing you about them.

That actually makes a lot more sense. But do I give a fuck? No. Not one. I just wanna go see Ellie.

Jay: Well that honestly sounds like a personal problem.

Dean: You're not going anywhere. You can go study, though. Because I know that you have a few tests, on Friday. And if your grades get any lower, we're not gonna be happy.

Jay: My Science grade actually went up. So-

Dean: Great. Now you just have to bring the rest of them up. And then you can go see your girlfriend.

Jay: She's not my girlfriend. She's a  friend-

Dean: That you wish was your girlfriend. I know. You said that already.

Jay: I just wanna spend a few hours with her.

Dean: If you like her so much, you probably already have her phone number. Call her.

Jay: That's not the same as hanging out.

Dean: You're not going anywhere, Jay. If I have to say that again, I'm gonna lose my patience.

Jay: So you've never wanted to go hang out with a girl? Never? I know what a whore you used to be.

He's still a whore, but you can't call somebody a whore, when you're trying to get them to bring you somewhere.

Dean: I used to do a lot more than just hang out with girls. That's also part of the reason why I don't want you to go. But it's still mainly about your grades.

Jay: The fact that you have to keep saying that, makes me think that it's actually mainly about Ellie being a girl. If you don't want me hanging out with a girl, just say that.

Dean: But that's not the only reason you can't go.

Jay: But it is one of the reasons?

Dean: Ok. Yes. Part of the reason why you can't go, is because I don't want you to be alone with a girl.

Jay: Seriously? You're not like this with Claire or Krissy.

Dean: Claire likes girls, and Krissy hates human interaction. Claire doesn't find sexual interest in her opposite gender. And Krissy doesn't like anybody. So you can't pull that card.

I can tell that he's getting tired of this conversation. I'm tired of it, too. I just wanna go see Ellie, but Dean's being complicated.

Jay: Can I just go to my room?

Dean: You can go to your room. But don't go asking Sam anything, after I've already said no. Ok?

Dammit. There goes my only fucking plan. I roll my eyes and start leaving the room.

Dean: Quit rolling your eyes at me.

I do it again, knowing that he can't see my face, and keep walking to my room. Once there, I take my phone out and start texting Ellie.

Jay: I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it.

Ellie: Your brothers said no?

Jay: Yeah. Because of some bullshit about my grades. I think he also doesn't want me hanging out alone with a girl.

Ellie: But all we did last time was play video games. What does he think we're gonna do?

Jay: To be fair, last time, I wasn't supposed to be out of the house. But he thinks I'm gonna be a whore, like he is.🙄

Ellie: It's ok. My parents think I'm a whore, too. But that's because of the rumors.

That's pretty fucked up. Why would her parents believe something like that? It's just a rumor that some asshole started. Why would her parents believe that? They're supposed to be the ones to be on her side. But instead, they're on the same side as everybody else.

Jay: Are you ok? Like, after everything? The rumors, and now Alex getting arrested?

Ellie: I think I'll be ok. I always knew Alex would do something stupid and get himself in legal trouble. And the rumors have actually died down since he's been gone. I'm starting to believe what my friends have been saying. Alex started the rumors.

Jay: It would actually make sense. He seemed to think the whole thing was funny.

Ellie: Yeah. Nobody's brought up the rumors, since he got arrested.

Jay: At least you know who started them, now. That's a good thing, right?

Ellie: It's a good thing. I just wish my brother wasn't the one who started them.

Jay: I'm here, if you wanna talk. About anything.

Ellie: I can't right now. One of my other friends is taking me to a movie. She says it's supposed to help clear my mind. If your brothers change their minds, you should join us.

Jay: I'll see what I can do.

I put my phone down, now thinking of what to do. I wanna go to the movies with Ellie and her friend, but mainly Ellie. But Dean already said no. And he's gonna get mad if I ask Sam, after he already said no. I'm not sure what to do, but I'm definitely gonna think of something.
