Chapter 29

The same day, 2:30 pm

In the bunker

Jay's POV

Sam: You ok? He asks as he walks in to the library.

Jay: I was ok 15 minutes ago. I'm still ok. I'm exactly the same as I was 15 minutes ago.

Sam: I'm just checking.

Jay: I know. But every 15 minutes is a little excessive, don't you think?

I get that he's just trying to make sure that I'm not gonna catch whatever the girls have. But he's being a little extra. But that's kinda what he does.

Sam: No. Because it's really easy to get sick, and I don't need another sick teenager. So if you-

Jay: "start to feel sick, let us know". I know. You've said it like, a million times.

Sam: Is it wrong for me to wanna make sure that you're not sick?

Jay: No, but-

Sam: Then stop complaining, and finish your school work.

"finish your school work". Bitch, I'm gonna be here all night. He and Dean told me to do the work for Algebra, because I always skip Algebra, because I can always get to it later. But later never comes. I always just end up not doing my Algebra class, and neither of the guys ever says anything about it. So I thought I was in the clear. I was wrong.

Jay: You say that, like it's even possible for me to finish this today. I'm gonna be sitting here, all night.

Sam: Seriously? Now you're being dramatic. All night? If you've really skipped out on that much Algebra, you're getting time added on to your grounding.

Jay: You'd really add more time to my grounding, because I didn't wanna do Algebra? Are you that sad with your life?

Sam: You're lucky I don't add more time, just for that sentence. It doesn't make any sense for you to be skipping classes, at all, Jay. You're home schooled. You should be passing, because here, you can cheat. How are you failing, when you can cheat? When you do cheat? How do you cheat wrong?

Jay: I come at you for being sad with your life, and you come at me for my intelligence? This is a new low, especially for you.

Sam: Maybe if you'd focus on what you're supposed to be doing-

Jay: Get out. Can't you see I'm working?

Sam: You're not, though.

Jay: Well I would be, if you weren't bothering me. How am I supposed to work, when you're bothering me?

Sam: I'm gonna go check on the girls, and you better be working when I come back.

He starts leaving the room.

Jay: YoU bEtTeR bE wOrKiNg WhEn I cOmE bAcK. I mock him, under my breath.

I didn't think he heard me, because I didn't say it very loud, because I didn't really want him to hear me. But now he's facing me again, giving me an annoyed look.
