It's been at least a week now ever since i basically ruined the suit of one of the most powerful people in the city. My shifts had been going the same way every day. One time there'd be a drunken guy collapsing, other times some people would get too touchy or try to bribe me into sleeping with them. I'd be lying if I said I was resistant to bribery, because Mallory really pushed my boundaries beyond what I thought was possible. But the money they offered me was more than enough for me to sleep peacefully every night. My gaze lifts towards the card that I hold between my fingers.

Mallory Olivier Fedorov Contraption & Artillery Inc. -05793517-

I was astounded by how my body responded. Never had I experienced such a feeling during a private performance, so why did it happen then? All I knew was that the moment I stepped into that room, part of me wanted to lash out while the other half felt incredibly insignificant. For the first time, my air of confidence vanished and left me deflated and exposed. I gaze at the card one last time before sighing heavily. It should go to Micha. While i make my way to Micha's office, the words that Mallory said to me after the dance haunted me.

"If you ever dance for someone else like you did for me, they will vanish the next day. Am i clear?"

God what are they? A hitman? I scoff at their audacity for telling me what I can and cannot do. With a shake of my head, I huff in annoyance and knock on the door to Micha's office.

"Come in."

I waltz inside with a smile on my face and brush my hair over my shoulder. "Hi Micha, i have something for you which belongs to one of the customers from last week."

"Oh? Such as?" I approach him and place the card on his desk. His eyes widen in disbelief as his head slowly lifts up to meet my gaze.

"You're kidding, Estella."

"What? Micha i don't know what you're talking about."

He let out a chuckle and shakes his head.

"Goddamn sweetheart, you're really something."

"Micha just give them the stupid card back when they return."

I storm out of his office, my face burning with anger at the way everyone is treating me like I've just won the lottery. Sure, this woman may be rich and powerful, but it still feels like a slap in the face to be so patronized. I was already angry before walking into his office; now my resentment only increases.

I return to my dressing room and gaze at the outfit I'm wearing. The intensity of their thigh pressing against my crotch is still vivid in my memory—every detail as clear as day. I can still smell their expensive perfume on my clothes, feel their hands grazing over my thighs and hips, their lips caressing the nape of my neck. My mind begins to drift off, but I quickly shake myself out of it with a gentle pat on each cheek.

Goddess, i don't want to be near them ever again.

Yet I can't deny that they are stunningly attractive. The way they present themselves sends my heart racing and makes me feel quite flushed. I sigh and get ready for the show tonight, although I have trouble mustering much enthusiasm. I arrive in the main room and hear my name being called out to me.

"Hydraa!"

I instantly brighten at the sound of the voice and turn to find Lea standing there. She's been my ride or die ever since I started here, always by my side. Seeing her always fills me with joy and puts a smile on my face. I walk over towards her and pull her into a hug.
