You had been back at work for a while now and Sans was becoming increasingly more clingy perhaps it was because you had been gone for awhile but that was 2 months ago! Papyrus was such a sweetheart, helping you escape when his brother got especially more clingy and you had work to do. Sans sure lived up to his nicknames… Snuggles and cuddle whale.

You also noticed occasionally Sans would make clicking noise or this deep whistling sound, whenever he did that during hugs, you could feel the sound travel through his bones and into yours. Papyrus also made such sounds albeit a bit less frequent and higher in pitch but he only did it when you had brought him a puzzle toy from the home base… they had a lot of those for some reason. You assumed they made those noises when they were happy or some other joyful emotion.

Today there was no Papyrus or Sans interrupting your work like usual but guess they had Siren stuff to do today instead of pestering you (Papyrus, the sweetest could never) but Sans however… certainly could… lucky for him he was an adorable dork so you'll tolerate it. You went about your day and everything seemed normal, until you heard something…? It sounded like singing, a feminine voice but strange, a ringing noise syncing with the voice, you lifted your head up from what you were doing and a few meters away you saw an unfamiliar Siren looking at you as she sang, her eyes scanning you hungrily. Oh shit, she was trying to lure you to your death! Definitely with how she's looking at you like you were a delicious snack. Fuck where did you keep your ear gear!? You fumbled as you rummaged through your tool belt but nothing useful could be found, you hadn't used them in so long, your stupid ass had forgotten to bring them with you! Was this your end? Lured by a song of death?

Sans had been looking for you but you weren't on your usual route, it seems today you had deviated which meant he had to check the uncommon areas where you didn't linger for too long. What caught Sans off guard was other sirens lounging around, snickering among themselves. He was about to ignore them and move on until one of them spoke, catching his attention immediately. "A human here? Can you believe it? And they're all alone… easy prey" A human? Alone? Who would be stupid enough to come here all alone? "Pfft, this opportunity is too good not to take!' He stopped and saw a siren surface from the water… No… it suddenly dawned on him, you couldn't be… it couldn't be you they were talking about!? But when the Siren began to sing her luring song, he could see your familiar form approaching her from up above the ice! You stupid-! Ugh! How did he not spot you sooner!?

His soul flaring up in anger, they were all trying to drown you! They were trying to take you away from him… his mate! A low growl rumbled inside him as his claws sharpened, his fangs fully out on display as he locked his slitted eyelights on the group of Sirens. Before he could make his move however, the Siren who surfaced came back down again with a shriek… what had happened for her to react like that!? The other Sirens were wondering the same thing as they asked her what shook her so much.

"THAT FUCKER GOT CLOSE ONLY TO THROW SNOW AT MY FACE!" She seethed with anger and the other sirens looked at her like she was lying. "THEY EVEN LAUGHED AT ME! LAUGHED. AT. ME!" She continued to seeth as they all began to mock her, what in the world? "Wow, no need to be ashamed you couldn't lure the human with your song, let me try, I've got a better voice anyway!" Were you wearing those protective ear pieces? Thank the stars you did, his soul instantly felt relief at that. Before the other siren could surface, Sans let out a roar, vibrations pulsating through the water angrily, instantly stopping them and all of their focus on him. "Scram, this one is mine" Sans snarled, not willing to let anyone else anywhere near you, the first time was enough. The Sirens analyzed the situation and they all scoffed but backed down. "Fucking apex predators takin' all the good shit" The Siren who was about to surface spat out but retreated nonetheless, Sans was now grateful for his hulking size, must have given them quite a scare, heh. They all scattered, leaving him alone and so he surfaced but before he could say anything to you, his skull was met with a bunch of snow…
