Chapter 15: The Change

You groaned, your head was pounding slightly as you opened your eyes to be met with… a cave roof? Why were you in a cave? How did you get… here… it took you a moment but now you remember. For some reason the usual ringing in your ears was… gone? Hmm maybe not with the slightest whooshing sound… Wait, how are you alive!? You're sure Sans had managed to drown you! You tried standing up but that didn't happen, instead your body flew into the air with ease? What in the fuck? Where was gravity!? You were practically floating from up above where you had laid down, facing the ground. You could see you had knocked some stones from the articulate build you had slept in but what caught your attention was the centerpiece of the build… It was a stone similar to the one around your neck. You squinted at the familiar gemstone and you tried to move your legs so you could take a closer look, only to launch yourself into the ground.

You groaned in pain, what the hell!? Were your legs overpowered or something!? You easily got up from the ground with how light the gravity was for some reason… "OH! Y/N! YOU ARE FINALLY AWAKE FROM YOUR DEEP SLUMBER!" You heard a very familiar voice albeit a bit differently? More clearer? You turned around to see Papyrus a few meters away from you, smiling at you with his signature smile. Wait… why… could you see Papyrus's whole slender and colorful body with such clearity!? It didn't sit well with you. "SANS! THEY'RE AWAKE! AND YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT FORM THEY TOOK!" Papyrus turned away to shout for his brother. The form you took? What did he mean by that? You were human the last time you checked… you looked down to see your naked chest and… well those aren't human legs… those are flippers. Holy fuck, were you a siren now!? You had never heard about anyone turning into a Siren! You thought you could only be born as one! That explains why you weren't hearing ringing but whooshing now! You were underwater and it must have changed something inside your ears…

Suddenly a big shadow rapidly approached you while making deep rumbling sounds from their throat, out of instinct you propelled yourself up like you did when you first woke up. Though you lost control and hit the cave roof, making you groan in pain yet again. Stars, you are gonna get brain damage if this continues on. "Heh, aren't you a speedy little thing?" You looked down and saw Sans and he was still as huge as an Orca could get. What unerved you was this time, he wasn't above the surface where he was more sluggish and slow. No, now you were in his territory not knowing how to move your new half and how to work with this different shift of gravity. You took your eyes off Sans for a second to try and locate the exit of the underwater cave but when you looked back to him, his skull was inches apart from yours! Shit you weren't used to him being this swift!

"Good mornin' my precious gemstone…" His hand tried to touch you and you again instinctively dodged it by propelling yourself but this time you launched yourself to the left, luckily this time you had some leeway and stopped before hitting anything… thank the stars for that. "I SAID TO GIVE THEM SPACE YOU BIG LUG!" Papyrus quickly swam up to you but not before giving his brother a whack on the skull, Papyrus was careful not to get too close. "TINY HU-... No That Is Not Right… TINY Y/N! IT MUST BE VERY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I WILL EXPLAIN!" You calmed down when you saw Papyrus kept his brother at bay, you didn't want him anywhere close to you, that bastard who drowned you. "YOU SEE… WE FELT IT NECESSARY TO GIVE YOU A GENTLE NUDGE SINCE TURNING INTO A SIREN IS QUITE THE SCARY EXPERIENCE!" Your mind blanked… The sweetheart was in on it!? You couldn't believe your ears! Did you still have them!? Yeah you do… whew. You gave Papyrus a hefty glare now that you knew he wouldn't be the voice of reason anymore.

"AND WHAT A FINE AND GREAT SEAL SIREN YOU HAVE BECOME! ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T EXPECT YOU TO TAKE A FORM OF A FEROCIOUS LEOPARD SEAL…" You blinked, the nerve of these Sirens! "That wasn't a gentle nudge, that was a push from a cliff!" You had this urge to just strike him with a bite but you managed to keep it down as you sighed, creating bubbles from your mouth… odd. Both of the brothers stared at you with an unreadable expression on their face. "Heh… how adorable" You glared at Sans, not putting up with more of his shit… You clearly remember that non-consensual kiss before you went unconscious. Papyrus cleared his non-existent throat, him being half skeleton and all. "I AM INCREDIBLE SORRY FOR HOW MY BROTHER MIGHT HAVE TREATED YOU AND I KNOW YOU FEEL BETRAYED BY OUR ACTIONS BUT OUR INTENTION WAS NOT TO HURT YOU…" Uh… they literally drowned you? That's intentional harm if you've ever seen some. You wanted to scream and shout, let your anger out but you knew that wouldn't get you anywhere good. You were not at an advantage to do so.
