17 seconds, fleeting moment in time,
But in that brief span, stories intertwine.
With each heartbeat, a chance to make a choice,
To seize the day, and let out voices rejoiceAmory, Meredith, Cristina, and Izzie sat at the bar, watching Burke and Derek violently play darts. "he's picturing my face." Cristina scoffed, glaring at her boyfriend. "He's totally picturing that dart puncturing my skull." She angrily threw some peanuts on the bar top. Burke flexed a muscle at Derek, which Cristina quickly imitated to show the girls how foolish he looked. "Oh! Look at that."
It was Derek's turn to throw darts now. He couldn't help himself and his eyes landed on Meredith again. He threw the darts as hard as he could toward the board. "Derek—Derek is picturing you." Izzie butted in.
"He called me a whore." Meredith complained.
"yeah, he lost the right to picture you." Amory took a sip o her drink, nodding along to what the blonde had said.
"So I fall asleep during sex, so what?3 Cristina muttered to herself. She then raised her voice and shouted. "Ass!"
"Ass!" Meredith repeated, glaring at her ex-boyfriend.
"Oh, ass! Hey!" Izzie sarcastically smiled at Alex as he walked by. Amory had to bite her tongue to keep herself from yelling at Izzie. She knew that Alex was strong enough to defend himself as well.
"Isobel Stevens has finally left the hospital. Does this mean heart patient dude finally kicked it?" Alex shot back, quickly noticing the grin that formed on his friend's face. She was trying so hard not to laugh.
"I'm sorry. This section of the bar is for surgeons. We don't socialize with gynecologists." Alex rolled his eyes before walking away from the ladies.
George took the place of Alex, and Izzie excitedly yelled. "George!" As she noticed his girlfriend she deflated and let out an unenthusiastic "Hey." It reminds Amory of the mean girls back in school, the ones that always talked badly about someone behind their backs.
"Hi, Callie." Meredith greeted drily, still iffy about the woman.
"Hey, Dr. Torres." Cristina did the same, unbothered.
Amory liked Callie, she really did. She thought she could be good for George and she definitely did not like how her friends treated her. So, at that, she moved closer to the woman, in an attempt to welcome her better. "Hi, Callie. I'm glad you could come." She smiled at the resident.
"Thanks, Amory." The woman gave her a grateful and relieved smile.
"A gin and tonic and a beer," George ordered.
