Surviving the Apocalypse

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my story! 

This book is different then most stories I've read, regarding Daryl Dixon. In this story he will be a fifteen year old version of Daryl on the show. Because of this, some things may seem a bit OOC, but I will try to keep him as close to his canon character as much as possible. However, that being said children act differently than adults. So where older Daryl might curse someone out for looking at him wrong, younger Daryl may only do it in the presence of Merle, and then feel bad for it.

Now obviously this is just an example, because I think we can all agree that Daryl is a bit of an asshole when he wants to be. One of the major differences in older and younger Daryl, is the amount of time they've dealt with their childhood. Canon Daryl spent his entire childhood underneath his father's grimy hands, and then drifted with Merle until the world fell. In this story he was still under his dads thumb when the world fell, so he hasn't been influenced by drifting with Merle.

As of right now there isn't a love interest, but there could be in the future who knows. What I will say is that Daryl and Oliver will never be together! Not in a relationship way, they are solely best friends, platonic soulmates, whatever you would like to call it. But they will never be romantically involved. I included Oliver and his mother for other reasons, which you will find out as you read.

Oliver will be "played by" Dacre Montgomery, obviously you will need to imagine him and Norman a bit younger until we get later into the show. (No not a mullet! Normal Dacre with an American accent, there will be no Billy in this story!) I'm a big fan of Stranger Things so if I somehow end up with the whole cast being added in as OC's... please forgive me. I will say they will gain a friend, who will be played by Joe Keery. Because how could I say no to that face? And he already has a signature weapon??? Uhm hello, match made in heaven if I do say so myself. 

Elodie will be "played by" Margot Robbie, again with an American accent, although it is funny the mother-son duo I chose are both actually Australian. Not that I have anything against Australian's, I just see them as Americans, but their face claims fit their characters, in my opinion. 

This story could be considered a "fix-it fic" because there are some things I change, some deaths that I think were completely unfair or unreasonable. I also want to focus more on the relationships built throughout the story, rather than focusing on all the danger or enemies. We all know that walkers are dangerous?? And we know that all the enemies they have faced on the show are assholes, and I of course will explain that in the story, but I won't make it the main focus.

Some stories go into so much depth explaining just the fighting or war scenes but then leave the bonds that grow from it in the dust, and that's okay. Those stories are good too, but I rarely see stories built around the love and care the group has for each other.

This story will follow the show, some things may change here and there, but for the most part I tried to keep it similar just because those are the stories I like. It's easier to follow along if you know what the place looks like. If I explained the Greene farm, everyone would know what I'm talking about. If I explain my backyard, everyone will have their own opinion on what they think it looks like, because you've never seen it. If that makes sense.

And the last thing I will say is that I will have at least one 'page' for every episode. So the show is 11 seasons long, so I will have 11 "chapters", there are 177 episodes total of the show (if you don't count the spin offs). I don't like uneven numbers, and I'm sure I can stretch scenes enough, plus all these extra intro pages, to have about 200 'pages'. I'm not sure if I will continue with the spin off, or if I'll make my own ending, however this will probably be two books of this.

Because it is so big, I may have to split it in two, because I'm not sure of the limit Wattpad has on chapters. But that being said, just know this does follow Season 1 all the way to Season 11. It has all the warnings that the show has, I'll put a TW at the beginning of chapters, so you can skip if you need to. 

My update schedule will change depending on what's happening in my personal life, but I do plan on release the first 'Season' all at once, and then doing an episode per week. Maybe more depending on how fast I write, and how well the story goes as far as views and everything.
