𝐔𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 how much she needed a girl around - someone to relate to. Lockwood had watched the girls interact several times and had come to love the smile Lucy created on Carolynne's face and how excited they got together over things he'd never understand or how much he'd hear them laugh when they hid away in each other's rooms listening to music. George was also glad he wasn't alone in putting up with Carolynne's and Lockwood's antics.

After only a day Lucy figured Carolynne and Lockwood were together until she asked her about it in the safety of her attic bedroom. "How long have you and Lockwood been together?"

Carolynne spun around to face the girl a puzzled and yet smiling expression on her face, "pardon?"

"Oh," Lucy paused tilting her head, "I thought you two were..."

Carolynne shook her head with a small laugh, "no."

Lucy had noticed how much Carolynne seemed to like the boy, how she'd look for him in every room she walked into, how she smiled twice as much when she saw him and the look of purity when she glanced at the bouquet of flowers in her vase.

She never said another word on the matter after that night in her room but it was so obvious they cared about each other - especially when the three of them started to go out on jobs. There had been four cases the trio had done together since Lucy had joined and primarily they'd all been fairly successful. George had been researching their jobs non stop which meant the morning of each case they were sat down in the kitchen so George could read to them all of his notes.
