"𝐈'𝐦 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭,"Carolynne said to Lockwood as she came back from David's office with her house keys hanging off her finger. "Thought we may as well talk about the house while I was here."
"It's alright," Lockwood smiled as he turned away from the window, "all sorted? You ready to go?"
"Yeah."
Lockwood and Carolynne picked up their bags before leaving hand in hand, they decided to walk given the fact she'd told him it wasn't far and they'd have more time to briefly sight see.
Dulac House sat by the river near the cathedral, it was a large house with a matching garden and gravel drive. When Carolynne opened the portico lined door, they were greeted by a large foyer with checkerboard tiles, intricately wallpaper and architectural designs made the walls along with numerous cultural masks and photographs that reminded Lockwood of home. A small green sofa was pushed against the left of the back wall, next to a table that held a telephone. There were small steps at the very back that lead towards two closed doors. The stairs were in the right back corner and curved up around the sides of the house, leaving a circular gap so that a large hanging light structure could hang from the very top of the house.
Carolynne and Lockwood put their rapiers into the Moroccan umbrella stand beside the door and Lockwood hung his coat up on the stand next to it.
"Very roomy in here," Lockwood complimented as he looked around and up the gap to the very top ceiling. "It's nice though, the masks remind me of home."
