𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐬 have a shower and changed before leaving the house to pick up a bouquet of red roses from Mr Alfree and Carolynne's cake from Mrs Purvis. He'd asked her to make a two layered cake with a simple design and to incorporate fresh strawberries, he knew Carolynne loved them and trusted Mrs Purvis on her cake decorating expertise.
He was right too, she'd covered it evenly in smooth white glittery frosting and lined the rim on top and bottom with strawberries.
When he got home he set the cake box down on the table along with the flowers where Lucy and George were having breakfast - the two were quick to lift the lid for a peak inside.
"She awake?" Lockwood asked as he switched the kettle on after prepping a mug for his tea.
"No," Lucy said as she put the lid back on the box. "I've just checked on her, she seems okay."
"Okay."
