Leon's POV: "Sacrificial lamb, you will receive our most sacred body. It begins now. When day breaks you will join our covenant. To share in my holy blessing... forever." He reaches his hand out to me as I feel sharp pains attack my body. Ache filled everything, as the veins in my arms started to turn black.

Pain... so painful. Fuck.

I jump from my sleep, realizing I'm still in the boat. My eyes travel up and down my arms as I check them frantically waiting for black to travel through my veins like ink. I feel so out of breath. My mind going wild.

It was a dream... How long has it been? Where's Y/N? Is she okay? Shit.

I'm fine but how long did I leave her alone. She could be dead. What the fuck did you do Leon. I look over towards the dock feeling a lump form in my throat.

I try to push it down by swallowing as my eyes set on a figure curled up on the doc. My vision was still a bit foggy but I could tell she was there. Her back was exposed and her hair fell to the side. Her arms wrapped around herself, probably for some form of comfort.

At least she was still there. I need to get to her. I need to see her, feel her, make sure she's okay.

I hope she's okay. The last thing I have ever wanted was to cause her to panic, or not be there when she is.

"I'm coming hold on." I whisper under my breath turning back towards the motor. Let's hope the piece of shit doesn't crap on me again.

I pull the lever back twice, causing it to start. And I'll be damned it actually ran.

After about five minutes with the motor on high speed I made it back to the doc. Y/N is in sight and now reachable but non-reactant to the boat arriving... still unconscious?

I shut off the motor, getting out of the boat carefully creeping around Y/N. She's... asleep? I kneel down next to her torso, moving some of her hair out of her face. So... cute. She's so cute. Her face is scrunched up like a baby and her arms are holding one another around her torso.

She must've fallen asleep waiting for me. I wonder when the last time she actually slept was. She's probably been so scared. I take another look at her face, watching her eyes move through her closed lids. I wonder what she's dreaming about. She looks so peaceful.

As I get lost in the thoughts and feelings, I watch as she begins to jolt. The veins under her eyes turning a familiar dark purple-ish black color. No.

No... shit. She begins to whimper and jolt the more it moves through out her body. Her arms now turning.

"Hey, Y/N! Wake up." I grab her shoulders picking her head up to move her torso to rest on my lap. My legs rest on the outside of her body. Her hands grab around at the air seeking comfort. But she's still asleep.

"Shit. Hey Y/N I'm here wake up! Please It's me! It's Leon!" Still nothing but whimpers and squirming. I try to cup her face in my hands but she's squirming too much. The infection still continues to travel. Those bastards touched her with that shit. I swear to god I'm going to fucking kill them.

"Hey. Y/N come on. Wake up. Hey!" Just then she wakes up panicking heavily as she chases her breath. She sits up, her eyes wide as she turns to me, begging for help. She lets out one more panicked breath before turning to the side and heaving into her hand.

I watch as her hand begins to fill with blood. It was more then I had coughed up, which means she was probably infected before me.

Shit this is not good. I move the hair our of her face holding it back as she continues to choke and cough into her hand.

When she pulls away I release her hair gently, resting my hand on her shoulder. I drew small circles on her shoulder as she was now staring into her hand still panic breathing. Her other hand leaves the outside of my leg as she covers her mouth, letting out a small cry.

"Hey hey, I'm here." I move closer as her eyes close. Her hand shakes uncontrollably as I watch the blood she had coughed up trickle onto the doc planks. This is so fucking wrong. I hate seeing her in pain. I just want to hold her.

"Y/N, look at me." My eyes are set on her as she turns to me. Her eyes are so heavy as tears gently fall from them.

"I'm not gonna let anything happen to you okay?" I reassure her, wiping a tear away. She sits in between my legs concentrating on my voice. I can tell by the way she's watching me talk, and when her ears twitch when I say something a certain way.

She stays silent as I wipe away another tear. For a second we just sit there in silence. I let her process everything going on. I'd hold her but I don't want to make her feel overwhelmed.

She had turned away a while ago to look off into the water, disassociating for a few minutes.

Until suddenly she swiftly turned back to me with wide eyes again, a quivering lip.

"Hey what is it-?"

"I'm so glad you're okay." She lunges herself at me cutting me off as she wraps her arms around my torso. I fall back from the impact of her jump just catching myself on my elbows. I rest on my elbows letting her hug me.

"Leon I swear if you ever leave me like that again I'll kill you myself." She sits up wiping her nose. Was that a joke...? She's joking... Is she okay?

"I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me. I felt this twisting ache in my stomach and then I got so dizzy and shaky." Her eyes focus back on my mouth as I talk.

"Nothing and nobody hurt you though right?" I ask sitting back up. I take her face in my hand gently moving it around as I check her for any wounds. She just has blood smeared across her mouth.

"Well not while I was conscious no. But come to think of it, Leon that's how I started feeling before I fell asleep. I remember watching the boat so anxiously and it started getting fuzzy. I thought it was just from staring so long but that's the last thing I remember before falling asleep."

"Hey whatever it is, we'll figure out how to get rid of it together. I promise. I won't let anything happen to you." I make my way to my feet, offering her my hand when I do.

"You know you always have been good at keeping your promises Leon." She takes my hand smiling as she makes her way to her feet. I return the smile watching to make sure she doesn't need help.

"You ready?"

"Yeah. I'm okay."
