Y/N's POV: "I can't believe you guys do that all the time. That's terrifying." The blonde said immediately wiggling from Leon's grip to come stand next to me.

"Eh don't worry. I was scared the first time too, but I trust Leon." I said breaking my gaze form her to look back over to Leon, who was checking his ammo and reloading his guns before we move forward.

"I can't imagine the excitement that rushed over you when you guys saw each other again." She said giving me a blushed smile. I could tell Leon was listening in by the way he looked up to her sentence. The way his eyes lit up thinking about the moment.

"Honestly at the time he scared me more then excited me because I didn't know it was him yet and I thought I was gonna die." I say letting out a small chuckle. Leon grew a smile on his face as we talked.

"Alright. Ready girls?" He makes his way over to us after putting his guns up.

"Yeah." I say giving him a nod. Ashley stays quiet as she kind of cowers behind me. Leon is the first one to climb down the ladder to reach the ground. I'm second. And Ashley last.

Waiting for Ashley to get down, Leon and I stand together.

"Gimme a sec, gotta make a call." He says to me signaling for me to keep a close watch on Ashley, who was still making her way down.

"Roost I've secured baby eagle."

Leon breaks away checking the new spot of the church for anything dangerous or useful.

Finally Ashley is now standing next to me, as we both watch Leon.

"Ya know. I think he admires you..." She turns to me giving me sweet sympathetic look.

"What do you mean?" I say turning to her with a puzzled look.

"Just... I watch how he looks at you and you don't look at people like that without a deep root or connection behind it. At least people like him don't." She says as we both put our attention back on Leon.

I stay quiet thinking about the times Leon and I have locked eyes. The way his face would immediately seem to relax, or the moments he would give me a specific look. Her words would continue to ring in my ears.

"Copy that." Leon hangs up the phone as he makes his way over to us.

"It's dangerous so remember to stay close to me unless I tell you otherwise." He gives Ashley a nod before pausing on me. Making sure I heard him loud and clear.

Leon moves a fallen shelf out of the way that had been blocking the path. I follow behind him as Ashley follows me, we make our way around the side of the church crouching down as we begin to approach the front.

We follow watching him sneak attack one of the villagers out by the front of the church. He stabs her in the neck while covering her mouth to muffle any sound she would make. Ughhh hotttt.

Now we've gotta make it through the church graveyard filled with malevolent villagers. We follow behind Leon staying in a crouched position, hiding behind grave stones and in between stone ledges when we need to.

Someone had managed to spot Ashley before she could hide, which you can guess what that led to.

"They're coming. Get behind me!" Leon says taking off as he pulls out his pistol, I do the same, grabbing Ashley's arm as we move. The sudden movement gave me a flashback of my friend Katie back in Raccoon City, and how I had done the same thing in the exact moment a couple minutes before her death.

My gut twisted as I shoved the memories back to the back of my brain. Can't do that right now Y/N, gotta move.

"Oh god! What is wrong with these people?!" Ashley frantically presses questions in between her labored frantic breathing.

A sharp pain shoots through my shoulder as I am ripped back, Ashley's hand leaves mine as  yelp escapes her mouth. Fuck.

I ignore the pain in my shoulder, opening fire on the bastard that had hurt her. With three bullets he was down, just as Leon had killed his way through the crowd and back to us.

"Ashley! You okay?" He asks opening fire on another villager as I help her up.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

Just as Leon had taken off again Ashley was screaming as someone had picked her up. Jesus these things want her bad.

I shoot them in the leg which makes him drop her, but they just keep coming. Leon continues to open fire on the ones surrounding us, but weird creatures come out of some as they die, which of course takes his attention for longer. Fuck we're really struggling.

"Y/N look out!" Ashley yells just as I'm hit with a shovel from behind. I feel my body fall limp, my face smashes in the dirt and pain shoots through the back of my head immediately causing a headache.

"Y/N! Fuck!" I hear Leon scream for me through muffled static and a faint ring as I try to make my way back to my feet. I only end up in a bent over on my knees position due to dizzy-ness and the weak limbs. The sound of firearms finally begins to die out as I feel a warm hand on my arm.

My head is throbbing. Fuck. My eyes squint as I make out the figure kneeling next to me. It's Leon and he's the one who had grabbed my arm. Ashley's there too, behind him. It doesn't look like we're being attacked anymore.

"Hey, Y/N. It's me. Can you see me?" His words are muffled, and his image is blurry, but I can see his lips moving and the faint expression on his face. I miss him. I miss Leon.

"I miss you too. Hey, I'm right here." He draws small circles on my arm, the ringing in my ears starts to die out.

Wait, did I say that out loud? I miss him... Did I say that? I let my eyes rest back on him as his image becomes more clear, Ashley's too.

"Hey, there you are." He says wiping some of the dirt from my face with his thumb.

"You should've seen what Leon did to the guy that hurt you." Ashley says giving me a smile.

"I'm sorry I let it come to that. Can you stand?" His eyes are sad, as if he takes the blame.

"Yeah. I think." I say grabbing my head. It hurt to talk. He places his hand on my head giving me a sympathetic smile as he offers me his other hand. Ashley moves to the other side of me offering me her hand.

"Thanks guys." I take both of their hands as they hoist me up. Leon keeps his hand in mine, moving the other to my lower back in case I need extra support for a minute.

"You alright?" He asks before moving his hand off of my back.

"Yeah. I'm good. Are you two okay?" I look between Leon and Ashley as they continue to analyze me with worried looks.

"We're okay. Just worried about you." Leon gives me a sympathetic look pulling back out his pistol.

"Ah, don't worry. I'm okay." I say taking a couple steps forward as Leon follows, making sure I don't topple.

"Alright. Lets move." He says as he moves back to the lead.

__________________________

I never thought the chaos could get worse from the graveyard. There was people coming from every angle. It was so much worse when we reached the village. Leon and I stayed in the lead protecting Ashley as we moved forward.

But the challenges just seemed to never end. Luckily Leon had collected a lot of ammo, which gives us a slight advantage. But at this point we weren't fighting to kill, we were fighting to get a chance to escape.

Which in turn left the worst feelings behind.

But we just kept running.
