Firey was informed he would need to stand near the entrance to the backstage during the majority of the performance and in front of the center of the stage while Leafy performed her solo.

This job wasn't his first choice at all but when he saw the advertisement in a newspaper he realised how desperate Four was to get a gaurd for Leafy and knew the job would be as good as his from the get go.

The other applicants werent much competition either. There was a middle aged man who seemed like a divorced dad, a young teen who was probably just trying to see if he could get with Leafy and a few other boring men and women.

It took a while to actually get the job as background checks were done thoroughly to make sure no harm would come to Leafy, it made sense but Firey thought it was all a bit blown out of proportion.

Four had told him that given the drama Leafy had been involved with, people had wanted to hurt her for "betraying their love" and that he wouldn't believe how far people took things in the showbiz world.

Firey remained unfazed. To him it was all stupid. He could never understand how people spend thousands of hard earned dollars to buy silly merchandise or a handshake from some random woman, it just didn't make sense.

Surely, people knew that their beloved Idols didn't actually love them and that it was all an act. How can you love someone you don't even know?

These people didn't know their Idols, they only knew the side that the media shows and ignore all the sides the don't want to see.

All in all, he thought it was crazy and anyone who actually worshiped these  girls needed to get their head checked.

As more and more people entered the club Firey took his position and eyed the room.

The bright lights, loud music and the smell of B.O made him feel sick. He hadn't expected it to be like this, if he was going to stay in this job he'd need to pop a pack of pain killers per preformance.

The exact type of people he expect to see were here, grown men wearing shirts with the girls faces on them and stupid headbands with the groups logo along with glowsticks that were constantly waved about.

There were some "normal" people there too but how normal could they be if this was where they chose to be on a Saturday night.

One thing he noticed was that Leafy was clearly the most popular out of the group, with her face being on most of the T-shirts except there was a different group's logo on some of them. It was the logo of her old group before she was kicked.

Suddenly the lights dimmed and a booming voice over some speakers announced the girls on-stage, each being welcomed with a loud cheer.

Leafy was the last to be introduced and the roar that came from the crowd when she made her way on stage nearly deafened him.

She greeted everyone in the audience with her "perfect smile", promising that everyone would preform really well just for them and the other girls agreed.

Firey glared at her from the corner, not believing a word of what she said and scowled as she made more and more empty promises and messed with more and more hearts.

With that, the show began, the girls dancing and twirling in their frilled skirts in a cutesy and energetic manner while the literal grown men in the crowd sang and danced along.

It truly was a sight to behold as Firey watched a middle aged, bald man give his all to each dance, clad in merch from the group, he outwardly recoiled at the spectacle.

"So that's how these companies make money," he thought to himself.

The rest of the night went smoothly and soon it was time for Leafy's solo.

He pushed his way to where he was supposed to be and quickly checked to make sure no one had anything that could be used to hurt Leafy.

Once more, a voice boomed on the speakers that the "one and only Leafy" would be dazzling us all with her wonderful solo show" and yet again, Firey was deafend.

Originally, he didn't care about the show but he decided he would watch her dance, praying she would mess up and he'd have something to make fun of if she ever tried to tell him how hard it was to be an idol again.

But it never happened.

Every movement was perfect, the way her eyes glittered and shone in the light, her eye-catching smile and the way she just seemed to sparkle all combined to simply scream perfection.

She was in her element right now, centre stage, all eyes on her, reaching out to her audience and captivating them like insects in honey, all of them falling into her sickeningly sweet trap.

And yet, there he was, becoming one of them, an idiot drowning in honey.

He couldn't take his eyes off her, her poise and movement commanded his attention, almost forcing him to gaze at her.

As the music came to a close and she took a bow, she met his eyes and winked at him with a sly grin on her face and he did his best to remain composed, thank God for his poker-face.

The rest of the show went smoothly but after Leafy's performance Firey realised just how far above she really was in comparison to the others.

Her facial expressions and movements were a dead giveaway to how many years of top tier experience she had, making the other girls look almost silly.

Leafy was a cut above all of them, it was no wonder she was so popular and from what he knew about her, she could easily outshine anyone when she was at the top.

It was clear she should be doing far better things in far better places but the reasons she was here was all because of her stupid vanity and false identity.

After the show Firey had to wait outside her dressing room and escort her to a car that would be waiting outside to take her home.

As he waited outside her room, he felt extremely drained and tired, like a hot day when heatstroke is just about to hit you.

Jesus Christ, this job would kill him.

The hallway had no air conditioning and he just felt drowsy, he banged on the door one last time before crouching down onto the ground to rest a bit.

"Fuck you, you selfish bitch," he said under his breath.

He hated this girl, that was certain.

Hatred Was definitely the reason he couldn't get her out of his head.
===============================

And she was walkin around with a loaded shot-gun, ready to fire me a hot one, ooohhh.

She shot me, she shot me, bang-bang, she shot me.

Hope you enjoyed that chapter!
