As usual, Leafy was leading her group as they practiced choreography for a new routine and as usual, Leafy was the best.
Leafy was her group's center, a position that took her over a year to get when in her eyes she should have gotten it straight away, the only reason she didn't get it was because the company president was too scared to put her out front due to all the backlash and slander she received.
Being a Center was stressful though, you're right in the middle, the one that all the focus is on, if you mess up, it will be seen by everyone.
When you're the Center, it's up to you to be perfect and make sure you smile for the audience or else you let everyone down.
And as an Idol, you cannot let that happen.
Due to Leafy's experience with being a top-level Idol, she had a bit more grit than the other girls and could dance circles around all of them and so, she was indirectly made the group's coach.
She gave tips and taught them the dances, telling them where would be best to stand and how to smile and despite the fact that she was very much over-bearing, no one could say she was bad at her job.
It was clear that the group's popularity increased when Leafy took the reigns once the scandal had been forgotten by the media and they had been offered more and more gigs.
Leafy had a determination that was rarely seen in other Idols, she trained whenever she could, perfecting her movements and thrived off of her will to make a mark.
She needed people to see her, she needed people to talk about her, she needed people to be in awe of what she did and engrave herself into their memories.
She played to the cameras, she played on their hearts, telling beautiful lies that draw people in and give her their admiration.
She often wondered if lying made her a bad person but surely it didn't, her lies came from a good place...
But that's what she tells herself.
Deep down, she knows they aren't, no matter what she says, she knows that her words are tainted.
They don't come from the purity of wanting to make people smile and bring light when it's dark, they come from her sick need for validation.
When she's on stage, the light shines on her and everyone loves her, they tell her how brilliantly she radiates a magical aura and she feeds into it.
It's a game, none of its true, fighting off other girls to be the one to get it because she needs it.
She needs it more than anyone.
If she can't give into the lies and deceit and be the one in everyone's hearts, whats the point in continuing the charade any further?
What would be the point of existence?
...
"Basketball, you need to raise your arm higher and you need to give your rotations more energy,"
Basketball sighed as she drank her water and attempted the move again.
"Hm, you were better that time, don't forget to smile widely, that's what people want," Leafy said she adjusted the orange haired girls arm slightly.
"Leafy, I think we're all tired, we've been dancing since 6am!" Ice Cube whined.
"Yeah, I want a break at least," Eggy grumbled, kicking her water bottle over.
"Top Idols can sometimes train for twelve hours a day, we've only done seven and there's still moves we need to perfect," Leafy said, placing her hands on her hips.
