In her leggings and t-shirt, Jaya watches as Eleanor, Fabiola, and Devindance in red dresses for TikTok. Jaya has one but she does cooking videos on hers and she's always covering her skin. Jaya smiles when Nalini interrupts the dancing when she starts scolding Devi and makes her out a t-shirt on.

Jaya goes inside and she puts on some shoes, she goes out to take a walk since Nalini said she wants Devi to weeds Mohan's garden. Paxton leans against the door of his shed when he sees Jaya. He waves her over and she obliges. He pulls her in.

"Rebecca's out with our parents for a while," Paxton says. "Can I...?"

Jaya nods and Paxton moves to kiss her. He is surprised when she does straddle him but isn't when she keeps still. The kiss progresses into making out as his right arm wraps around Jaya and his left hand rests on the make of her neck as they kiss heavily.

Paxton pulls away before they go too far, panting. Jaya blushes deeply.

"I - I have to go home now before Nalini comes looking for me," Jaya says. "I'll see you at school?"

"Yeah," Paxton replies and he watches her leave.

Jaya is sitting in class when Paxton sits in front of her, like always. Devi is to her left and Trent is in front of Devi. The tardy bell rings as Paxton shoots Jaya a smile. He turns around to face the front.

"What if Anne Frank had an iPhone?" Mr. Shapiro asks, starting today's class. He moves to sit on the edge of his desk overlooking his students. "What if Winston Churchill had Wi-Fi?" He pulls his legs up and under him. "This week, we're gonna break up into groups and pitch app ideas that could've been used to mitigate the atrocities of the Second World War."

"Sounds interesting," Jaya says to herself as everyone else frowns.

"Just for one day, can we learn some thing that'll be on the future AP test?" Ben speaks up.

"Come on." Mr. Shapiro looks at him. "I worked really hard to find a lesson that was outside the box for you guys. Whatever. Just break up into groups of three."

Paxton turns to Jaya since Devi will be with, now, Jason and his friend Emmett.

"You want to be in my group?" Paxton asks Jaya.

"Yeah," Jaya replies. "Sure."

"Cool," Trent says. "I'll be in your group, too."

"Cool."

'Great,' Jaya thinks. 'Will we even pass?'

'He told Trent he asked me because I pretty much give him a guaranteed A because she's really smart,' Jaya thinks as she sits at Trent's house. 'It's not like anyone but Fabiola, Devi, and Eleanor know that we've been kissing, and Rebecca.'

"So, Jaya, such a pretty name," Tina Harrison, Trent's mom, says as she grinds some nachos in for her son.

Jaya is sipping on a 7-Up that she brought her.

"You know, the woman who threats my eyebrows is Indian," Tina claims. "So you know her?"

"I just moved to here last year so I probably don't," Jaya replies honestly.

"Hey, sorry I'm late," Paxton's voice fills the room as he walks over.

Tina's face changes and she hugs him. "Paxton! Oh, my goodness. All of that swimming has given you some muscles." She looks at his arms. "If your prom date cancels on you, you know where to find me." She whispers 'at the nearest wine bar'.

"Thanks," Paxton says with a chuckle. "I'm not too worried though. I've been going to Prom since seventh grade."

"No , get out!" Trent demands when Tina makes a flirty comment Paxton's way. "We need to do our project."
