The next day, Jaya is chilling by the wall watching as Trent try to remember what he wanted to eat as someone stands in the couch across from Ben and Aneesa. Jaya nudges Trent and nods. They walk over to watch.

"Hi!" the person with a familiar feminine voice greets. "Devi Vishwakumar here, from school," she continues as Eleanor and Fabiola walk up beside Trent and Jaya. "As many of you know, I have wronged Aneesa."

"Multiple times," Aneesa chimes in.

"Yes, multiple times," Devi agrees. "And it's only because, well..." She pauses for a moment. "... When Aneesa came here, I felt threatened by her. I was like, 'what the hell? Another Indian girl who's prettier, cooler, and has figured out her eyebrow shape'. But, Aneesa," she looks back at the Indian in a pink sweater and dark orange jacket and she kneels down, "I really don't want you to leave. I want us to be friends. I think you're awesome and if you stay..." she sighs, "I promise to be a really great friend to you."

"Well?" Eric speaks up suddenly when the Indian sitting down doesn't answer right away. "Do you forgive her, Crazy Aneesa?"

"Eric. She's not crazy!" Jaya scolds.

"Sorry," Eric speaks quickly. He's dating Rosalia but he still finds Jaya intimidatingly beautiful.

"Yeah, I'm the crazy one," Devi says as she stands up again. "Remember that time I fought a coyote?"

"Hey, that was my house!" Trent exclaims. "Ow!" He rubs his arm when Jaya playfully punches his arm.

"Yeah!" Devi says. "And how about the time I almost killed the co-Captain of the swim team because I was cheating on him with this little dude." She motions toward Ben.

"Hi," Ben greets everyone sarcastically.

"Wow, you are crazy!" Eric boasts and Jaya snickers at that.

"Right?" Devi agreed as Mr. K, or Manish, shows up behind the students.

"Devi, what the hell?" Manish asks. "What are you doing back here? Get off the couch. Come on!"

"Yeah, yeah. Sorry," Devi says and she gets off of the couch.

"Why are you dressed like a white nerd?" Manish asks as they leave the cafeteria.

Jaya sits in her window seat and she works on doing her Chemistry and her Algebra II class. She knows trig because she got bored in Guthrie and studied it with Tory, who is the same age as Paxton. She goes to take a shower
