DOMINIC "What?! Are you guys joking right now?! A fake relationship for publicity?!"
The next morning, Speed and Maria had called an emergency meeting with me and Anastasia. They said it was urgent, and that we needed to both be there as soon as possible.
Only for us both to find out that they're forcing us to be in a relationship that doesn't even really exist behind the scenes.
"Yeah, I'm with Dominic! What are you guys thinking?! Do you know how much this is going to affect our personal relationships?! We won't even have them anymore!"
"Okay, you two need to calm down. You haven't even let us finish the entire explanation to you first."
"What explanation do you have that is really going to make us agree to this?!"
Anastasia spoke angrily. Speed then began to speak.
"You two won't really be together. Only for the public eye —"
"Which is literally more than half of our lives!"
"Anastasia, stop being rude and let the man talk."
Maria interrupted. Anastasia then rolled her eyes, the both of us turning our attention back to Speed.
"You two will only have to show up to public events together, make it look real on social media sometimes, just everything for the public basically. Maria and I were even thinking that you two do some songs together for both of your upcoming albums. We already have the tour for you two planned out as well."
Now that Speed explained it more, it doesn't really sound that bad. I mean, in the end, there will be more fame, money, and attention for the both of us. Plus, more traction for both labels.
But the only thing is, what are we supposed to do with Alexis and Jerald? They will not like the sound of this.
"Dom, please tell me you're not thinking of going along with this!"
"What choice do we really have, Anastasia? We have to go along with this. Plus, in the end, we all win if you really think about it. More money, fame, and attention for us. And the labels get what they want, too."
"Dominic..."
"Dominic is right, Anastasia. We all win in the end. Why not just make this easier and just go along with it?"
"You people are real life insane! I can't believe I have to agree to shit I don't even want to do! If I knew this is what being famous required, I would've never signed this deal!"
Anastasia then stormed out of the room angrily. I looked back between Speed and Maria.
"We'll give you two time to process this. You guys can come back in three days, that should be enough time to process everything."
"Right.. see you in three days."
I slowly got up from the chair, then walking up and catching up with Anastasia.
"Stasia, wait!"
"I can't believe this! We really have to go through this, or what?! We're dropped from the label?!"
"Basically! Look, I'm not a fan of giving my real relationship up, either. But it's just the stuff we have to sacrifice in order to succeed."
"This is such bullshit! Like I said, if I knew that this is what this consists of, I would've never signed!"
"I know, Stasia... but, this is just what we have to do. You should probably head home and tell Jerald the news. I have to do the same for Alexis." - - - - "What the fuck do you mean you HAVE to be in a fake relationship with Anastasia?!"
Alexis screamed as I told her the news when I got to her house. I already knew that it wasn't going to be a pleasant reaction, at all.
"It's just what I have to do for my career, Alexis. You already know the type of stuff that this lifestyle may come with."
"Bullshit, Dominic! Just tell me that you fucking like her already! It's obvious! Why else would you agree to this so fast?!"
"What are you talking about, Alexis?! Anastasia and I are —"
"Shut the fuck up with that just friends shit, I'm tired of hearing it! It's bullshit, and you know it! We all know it! Even your own brother sees it!"
"What? What did Alex say?"
"He said that it seems like you've lost feelings for me, and you're starting to catch feelings for Anastasia. Even if you don't realize it yet, you are... everyone sees it, Dominic. And I mean everyone."
"That's not true, Alexis! You know I've always loved you, and I still do! Anastasia has nothing on you!"
"People grow apart, Dominic. I'm just tired of going back and forth with this. I'm tired of crying my eyes out almost every night because of this. I love you, but I can't be strung along with this anymore. And I'm definitely not going to be sticking around behind the scenes while you go be with another girl in public."
"Alexis, please! I can't lose you, I don't wanna lose you!"
"I think it's time for you to go now, Dominic. We can think about working this out whenever you're done with.. whatever this catastrophe is."
Alexis gently pushed me away from her front door, slamming it in my face.
"FUCK!"
And this was one of the many costs of being apart of the music industry..
