KEHLANI "Fuck! What time is it?! I'm going to be late for soundcheck!"
Anastasia shouted as she jumped out of bed the next morning. I slowly opened my eyes to notice that the both of us were completely naked. Then I realized what had happened last night.
It was her birthday party, and we ended up having sex. Anastasia was drunk, but she consented to it.
That was actually one of my biggest dreams that came true. Anastasia has been like my biggest celebrity crush for the longest. I've been following her throughout her entire journey so far. Even before she became a mega star.
Not only did I get to attend her birthday party and ended up having sex with her, I ended up getting signed to the same label and we have the same manager! That's pretty dope!
"Ughhh! You can't just stay here with me all day? Last night was so great!"
"Last night was only one time. And no, I have things to do. Did you forget that I'm on a whole tour? Dominic is gonna kill me, he's been blowing up my phone all morning!"
Anastasia quickly started to slip her clothes on. I started to laugh and shake my head, which left her confused.
"What's so damn funny?"
"You're not gonna take a shower or anything? You smell like straight up lesbian sex. Your man is gonna suspect something from that."
"Stop trying to be funny! I don't have time to shower right now!"
"I'm not being funny, I'm being serious! But go along and meet up with your man smelling like lesbian sex if you want to. I tried to warn you."
I shrugged and sat up in the bed, yawning and stretching. Clicking onto my phone camera, I noticed there was a huge ass hickey that was left on my neck.
This could not be her first time with a girl! She was way too comfortable with leaving a hickey on my neck like this...
"You sure had yourself a grand ass time last night, didn't you?"
"What are you talking about now, Lani?"
"For someone who never did this with a girl before, you sure left a huge ass hickey on my neck."
"Shit! I really did that?!"
"Duh! Are you sure you aren't into girls?"
"I don't have time to do this with you right now! I gotta go, I'll see you soon."
Anastasia grabbed her bag and keys, growing nervous at my question. I smirked with a small chuckle.
"I'm making you nervous or something?"
"No! You're just being very annoying right now, and I have to get going. And remember, Dominic CANT know about this. This stays between us and us only."
"Yeah, yeah, okay, princess. I'll see you at tonight's show or whatever."
"You're coming?"
"Why not? I don't have anything else to do while I'm in town. See you tonight."
"Mhm."
Anastasia walked out of the room, leaving me alone. I can't believe that last night really happened.
Right when I was getting out of bed, my phone started to ring. An incoming call from Maria.
"Hello?"
"What are you doing, Kehlani?"
"I'm just waking up. I had one wild ass night with Anastasia at her party last night."
"You slept with her on the first night of really hanging out with her?! I told you to get to know her more, not sleep with her!"
"I couldn't help myself. She's just too beautiful and genuine. She turned me on. Plus she was drunk."
"You couldn't have at least waited until after her and Dominic broke up?"
"Look; at first, I thought that maybe this was a good idea. But then actually really talking to her and spending the night with her, I don't want this to be just publicity. What if I want her for real? You know how much I have a crush on her.."
"We aren't here for crushes, Kehlani. We're here for music sales and business. Do you wanna climb on top of the R&B charts? Or do you just wanna be another nobody? A one hit wonder?"
"Of course I wanna be on top! But why can't we have an actual relationship outside of this? Why does it have to be publicity? My real feelings are already involved in this.."
"We'll talk about this at another time, Kehlani. Until then, I'll see you at tonight's show."
With that being said, Maria hung up the phone without giving me another chance to say anything else.
That's one thing I don't understand about this music industry. You can't really just ever be yourself. Everything always has to be for publicity. Always has to be about how much sales you make, or how big you can make it on the music charts.
If I knew this is how it really was, I would've never gotten involved with it..
