TRIGGER WARNING: Body dysphoria, transphobia

Secrets are hard to keep when you live with 12 other people, especially when you're with each other almost every second of the day.

Jeonghan didn't like to keep things from the members but the truth was, he had been keeping the biggest secret of his life from them.

For a long time jeonghan felt like he didn't fit in, he was always uncomfortable around other boys his age and never found any interest in the same things as boys his age did. In school he was often scolded by his teachers for his hair length, they said it was too long and needed to be above his chin.

Jeonghan hated having short hair though, he always wanted it to flow down to his back and he loved to adorn his shiny locks with various accessories such as headbands and clips, which were also not allowed at his all-boys school.

As he aged and went through puberty, things started to feel really wrong, on the outside and the inside. He was uncomfortable all the time, he never felt right in his uniform and he hated looking in the mirror for fear of seeing the boy looking back at him.

When he started having these feelings he became confused and anxious. Why did he feel so awful about himself? Why did he hate his flat chest and strong jaw? Why was he sickened by his body?

The summer of his senior year of high school, jeonghan did an experiment while he was home alone.

He snuck into his mom's room and hesitantly opened the doors to her wardrobe.

He saw her array of floral blouses and evening dresses. His eyes lit up as he brushed the fabrics with his fingers. He grabbed a simple black dress that had a small cutout detail on the neckline.

He took a shaky breath before he removed his t-shirt and basketball shorts and slipped the dress over his thin body.

He tugged the hem down to rest just above his knees and straightened the garment out before he turned to face the mirror.

When he saw himself he felt like he wanted to cry. There was something euphoric feeling about seeing himself in his mother's dress. He turned in all angles smiling at his figure touching the delicate sleeves and brushing his hand over the smooth fabric of the dress. He glanced at his mother's vanity and rushed to sit in front of it.

His hands were shaking as he opened the bag of makeup products that sat in the middle of the vanity. He began sweeping some light eyeshadow over his eyelids and coating his lips with his mother's favorite red lipstick. He haphazardly applied mascara thankful he didn't poke his eye out in the process and applied just a dusting of pink blush to the apples of his cheeks.

It wasn't an incredible look by any means but he thought he looked quite pretty.

He stared at himself in the mirror for several minutes as he processed everything.

Boys weren't supposed to wear makeup. Boy's weren't supposed to wear dresses or high heels. So why did he feel so right wearing them? Why did all that tightness in his chest dissipate when he wore the dress?

He felt his eyes water as he scanned his work, his mascara starting to run a little bit.

He wiped at the black streaks trying not to mess up his makeup any further and jumped in shock when the door to the bedroom opened and his mother walked in.
