TRIGGER WARNING: Homophobia, Homophobic Slurs, violence

Zhang hao knows who he is. He has never felt the need to censor himself or to lie about his true self. Even as an idol, he's only ever been his authentic self since the beginning.

Unfortunately being a public figure, this means he is subject to criticism.

Liking men didn't seem like a big deal to zhang hao, he felt it was no different than others liking girls. Gender was such an odd topic of discussion in the k-pop community. Men shouldn't like men romantically, that was shameful, that was wrong. People have lost contracts over that, people have been completely destroyed over something that shouldn't be anybody else's business.

Zhang hao never said that he liked men out loud, though he wasn't exactly subtle about it either.

He ignored negativity online for the most part, not letting mindless insults get to him. Though sometimes he'd feel hurt reading some of the stuff people would say, not just about his personality, but a lot of other aspects too. He watched Jiwoong deal with similar hate, being bullied for being a BL actor and openly dating men in the past. Jiwoong never seemed to be bothered by that stuff, even laughing at a lot of the comments he would get like that.

Zhang hao aspired to be like that, where he didn't take those things to heart, but sometimes words can actually hurt.

Zerobaseone were doing a fanmeet in seoul following a mini-concert at a local event center.

They performed a few songs before sitting down for the meet n greet.

Fans lined up excitedly to meet the idols, holding signs and posters, some clutching thoughtfully crafted gifts for the members.

Zhang hao loved getting to talk to zerose face to face. He smiled cheerfully as he greeted the fans, linking hands and laughing with some of the more nervous fans that came by.

The event was going wonderfully. They received tons of presents and letters from zerose, and got to sign hundreds of their albums and photo cards too.

Zhang hao said bye to the girl in front of him and greeted the next fan who sat in front of him.

"Hello! Thank you for coming today." he smiled at the young man in front of him.

The man just kind of smirked at him and opened his hands hoping Zhang hao would hold them.

Zhang hao chuckled and took the boy's hands in his, playfully shaking them back and forth.

"Ah, it must be hard for you huh?" The man spoke comfortably, gripping Zhang hao's hands.

"Hm?" Zhang hao politely questioned.

The man leaned in a bit.

"I mean, being the way you are and yet still showing your face out in public like this."

The tone of the conversation shifted drastically.

Zhang hao's smile fell and he looked at the man curiously.

"Being the way I am?" he asked, feeling the man's grip on him tighten a bit.

The man scoffed before chuckling at the Chinese boy.

"It's so pitiful isn't it? Letting disgusting people like you in the spotlight."

Zhang hao was getting more and more uncomfortable. He tried to pull his hands away but the man gripped them even harder.
