Winslow
I miss my powers. And my dad.
I miss home.
"Have you ever been in a relationship?" Seo-Yeon asks me, while laying on my bed with her face mask on.
"Of course." I scoff. They were all assholes except one.
"A serious relationship." She turns to me.
"Oh. Just one." I apply my face mask on.
"What was it like?" She sits up and crosses her legs.
"Well, it was amazing. Before he got into an accident and became brain paralyzed."
She gasps and her face mask falls off. She catches it before it hits the bed and clears her throat before applying it again. "You have some messed up past."
I just shrug.
Chase was the best person ever. We were at the same high school and sometimes I brought him home so we could practice water tricks together. He was a year older and was tutoring me in maths because he was way smarter than me. That boy was my first everything. At the time, I thought I was in love with him so when I found out he didn't remember anything after his accident I was madly depressed. I had lost one of the nicest people ever. I tried to make him at least remember my name but he thought I was a stranger and said I gave him headaches whenever I visited. The doctors told me it'd be nice if I got over him and stopped visiting.
Soon, I stopped and dad introduced me to his friend's son. It didn't feel right because I was using him to get over Chase. But it turned out he was also using me for fame because I was Ezekiel's daughter. It was a shame because I had started falling for him.
I've never been in a relationship ever since. And I'm scared to enter one. I don't like to give people my trust and depend on others for my happiness.
"So, are you and Cassius serious?" I ask her, tidying up my hair.
"We can't be." She sighs, "We've been fighting a lot lately."
"Why?"
"I don't know, he gets all mad when I tell him we shouldn't be doing this and that if my dad finds out it would be bad for both of us. I mean, we've talked about this so many times before, but he never reacted like that. Now I don't know what's gotten into him." She lays down and stares at the ceiling, thinking.
"Maybe he's tired of having to hide whatever is going on between you two."
"I know... I am too. But we can't stop." She turns to face me and I smile sympathetically at her.

It's been a week of working and the files are getting more every day. The business got really busy these last few days and I'm having suspicions they want to start the action. Right now, I'm holding a licence about the new training field in Italy. My eyes widen when I notice the sign at the end.I carefully send dad an email about this and exit the office to go get ready for dinner.
We're having dinner outside tonight, and the dining table is more pretty than ever. Colorful lights around the garden, the grass decorated with flowers and the trees with lights hanging on them. I'm wearing a silk white floral dress and the breeze moves my hair in a smooth motion.
"Do we have guests?" I ask Everett when he comes down all dressed up. But then again, he's always like this.
"Yes, for bussines. Try to stay professional." He walks past me and sits down on his seat.
"I'm always professional." I sit down next to him. He turns and holds my gaze for a moment,
"Oh you kids are here, Winslow honey, you look fabulous." Maverick smiles at me and I return it when I thank him.
